Can I PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blame chemo brain!

Okay, I took a nice long bath washed and conditioned my hair and got out immediately wrapping my hair in a towel. Did a few things then unwrapped my hair in prep for drying only to discover it still had the conditioner in it I had not rinsed it out OMG! I laughed hysterically at myself and had to tell you all, yup I'm claiming chemo brain.

    Sounds completely reasonable to me!
    I would definitely blame chemo brain!

    (And to think my DH does that withOUT our excuse! Hah!)

    Unfortunately, it was long before my diagnosis, so I couldn't blame chemo brain - but you have my permission to use that excuse for anything you like!

    Yes, it's CHEMO BRAIN, CHEMO BRAIN.

    Didn't know until last night that CHEMO BRAIN existed. I attended a informative cancer group session for all cancer patients.

    Patients did bring up CHEMO BRAIN and described situations.

    Re, you are correct. It is CHEMO BRAIN.

    I understand 100% about chemo brain i have gone to the store get there and forget what i went for walk around the store and still cant think of what i went for get all the way back home and it hit me what i went for so now i write things down...lol....this didn't start happen till i started chemo.

    No! No! A thousand times NO!
    No! No! A thousand times NO! It wasn't chemo brain at all, sweet RE! It was Intentional~ deep conditioning of the hair and scalp, with plenty of time to do other things, while your hair was wrapped in a towel , allowing the conditioner to "do its thing!"

    Did I ever mention that I always wanted to be a defense attorney???? LOL LOL

    I can't use chemo brain, but, I do use rad brain ALL of the time. lol

    Oh you gals have made my day thanks for backing me up. Chen you are right the extra time did better condition my hair! My husband has been out of town for a week and is due home in an hour so I he has no idea of my silly blooper, I think I shall keep it that way.

    Awww, dear RE - has been almost 6 years for me now since chemo... Yeah, it's much (much!) better - but, still there. Some days worse than others. Sheesh.

    No need to tell your hubby (unless you decide to share the laugh!). Just allow him to admire your incredibly soft and shiny hair! :-)

    LOL I do agree with
    LOL I do agree with Chen--you let it do its thing. No, I'm not a defense attorney and never gave that profession a thought. I've also done the same Re, way before I ever had chemo. It left my hair so soft and shiny. Wonder what my bald head would look like if I did that now.(HA HA) Perhaps it would stimulate growth.

My buds have gotten used to filling in the gaps. When I am really tired... it is like playing a game of chirades...first word, sounds like.

    What are gonna do?

    I'm soooo glad I have an excuse now! I've done the same thing way before chemo.

    Aztec I also loose my words and thoughts--I know they're there but can't speak them out. Very frustrating.

    Yes it is very frustrating and I used to get embarrassed but now I accept it and accept the help. I try not to get too frustrated because zaps my energy and these days, I try to conserve my energy.

    I describe the word I have stuck in my head refusing to come our or I use some silly similar word and we all laugh and someone will say the word for me or we simply know what I mean. We have been at this for 13 years now and my family calls it "Renaisms" ;-D.
