Last Herceptin, port coming out.

My hands have gotten better, but with the mrsa infection they want to take my port out the 20th (day before my birthday!) while I am still loaded up with anti-bodies. I am a little nervous over this and would appreciate hearing from our angels here if it is sore long? how did you do with it?
I can't believe this could all be coming to an end never to reappear I pray. After all we go through I am feeling silly to be kind of scared. Please keep me in your prayers....and celebrate with me the end of a very long year! I DID IT!! and so you will you my sweet sisters in pink. I love you all.
God Bless, Jackie

HOOOOOOORAY!!!! I was just thinking about you this morning! I am so glad your hands are on the mend! Taking the port out was the proverbial cake-walk compared to having it put in. After the site is numbed, all you will feel, as I recall is the tug of it coming out! Presto-Bingo, you will be portless!
Hugs,

Yea!!!
Dear Jackie, I am SO excited and happy for you! Done with Herceptin, done with infusions, done with port! You are always in our prayers, and we do celebrate with you the end of a wretched year. Thanks be to God.
I don't know about port removal, opted to have mine out later. Continuing good news about your hand. Relieved about that, as well. Your road is getting smoother, and your burden lighter, finally!0 -

I am so very happy for you!!! You did it! My port was taken out in the office and while the injection to numb the area hurt, the rest was just fine. You'll do great! We all love you.

Congratulations for finishing! I didn't have a port so can't answer that but just wanted to say good going!
It has been a long year...you were one of the first ones I saw when I stumbled onto this site of beautiful and courageous angels in pink. I hope you have a healthy and happy New year!

Sounds almost too good to be true... but I do trust and believe you so i will have the big girl panties pulled up! My main concern is that the mrsa infection would somehow get in there. That's why I am gad they are going to do it while I still am loaded to the gills with anti-bocies. I have had about 3 weeks off work already (Thank God) but i miss the paycheck!
I am sure that i got the mrsa at work, and they allowed me to continue working with it. Unbeknown to anyone it was Highly contageous. I think they are woried about workmans comp. and all the other ramifications. The director of Nursing just through a pair of gloves at me and back to work we go )HI-HO-HI-HO! I was pretty upset by all of it especialy since it was at the time of my son's break down. but he is getting better...and i am getting better. Pretty hard lessons but it will only make us stronger and more appreciative of life and love.
Thanks Chen, you are an amazing woman and sister.

Heartfelt congratulations, dear Jackie!
A huge accomplishement - done! Am so proud of you, and relieved. You've been on a very, very long stretch of the road - and for a very, very long time...
Yet, here you are - about to have your port removed. Wow! :-)
Even throughout your roughest times, you were here - on the board - providing steadfast hope and support to others in need. You are amazing. Definitely one of the most kind-hearted amongst us, no doubt. Am honored and grateful to be your friend.
I am celebrating with you, and for you.
Hopeful hugs your way, and always...
Kindest regards, Susan xo0
