Help, need to learn more about my Uterine Cancer 1C,
a bullet format.
-30th June 2009, had a D&C, i had some spotting so i went and checked it out. Lab report was a bit suspicious, my doctor recomend
a hysterectomy.
-13 July 2009, had my hysterectomy..Because i was not overweight and in good health she did not ask for an oncology doctor to be
present. She was surprised when the lab showed a 1C, uterine cancer. Next she sent me to an oncology doctor.
- 24 Sep 2009, I had a Para aortic lymph node dissscetion. I had a choice of Robotic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, or Abdominal
Surgery. He removed 28 lymph nodes all 28 were negative thanks to the Lord. So i am coming up on 4 months since i had surgery.
Recentlty here in Florida has had a freeze warning. The last week i have been feeling tender (a bit painful) on my abdominal.
Has anyone else experience this? I have a doctors appointment on 27 January 2010, which is my first 3 months visit i pray all goes
well.
The reason i choose the abdominal is i thought my doctor would be able to see every thing if something might be hidden. I did
know healing would take longer.
I would be happy to hear from as many folks as possible, thank all of you very much. God Bless to All
Blessings,
gerri

HI Gerri,
I was diagnosed
HI Gerri,
I was diagnosed with 1-C uterine cancer 3.5 years ago - the "c" staging suggested that the cancer had spread in my case (60%) thru the uterine lining - I think more than 50% penetration places you in the "c" category - my gyn-onc said I was in the 95% cure range and did send me to radiology for another opinion - that radiologist said my job is to bump you to a 98% cure range if you will give me 25 days of your life for external rad treatments - she was also recommending 3 internal or brachy treatments - mid-way thru my treatment she suggested 2 more external treatments and eliminating the brachy because my cancer had been confined to the upper third of my uterus -gyn-onc had said most likely spot for recurrence was the vaginal cuff - I had the treatments and for the first 2 years met with gyn-onc every 3 months for a complete internal - last year, visits have stretched to every 6 months -at surgery 42 lymph nodes were removed and all negative for cancer
I had a discomfort on my left side - intermittent sharp stabbing pain which did last for 6 months past surgery - gyn-onc was not alarmed and said it was the healing process - kept reminding me I had major surgery and it takes a full year to recuperate
hope this helps you

Hi Gerri
Welcome to this site. I think abdominal was a good choice so the lymph nodes got a good checking. It sounds good that you had no positive lymph nodes and you did not mention chemo or radiation so I'm assuming you have the more common cancer.
I also had total abdominal hysterectomy in Sept 2008. It took me about 7 weeks to return to work. I had some sensitivity which the doc attributed to adhesions. If it was me - I would call my doctor or his nurse and explain the symptoms and see what he/she says. I wouldn't assume anything at this point.
Blessings to you too, Gerri. It's always OK to ask questions and advocate for yourself. It's your body and your treatment. Mary Ann0 -

I was diagnosed in
HI Gerri,
I was diagnosed in May 2006 thru a D & C due to spotting and an ulta-sound which showed a mild thickening of the endometrial lining- I had abdominal hysterectomy and recovered quickly - began radiation in mid-August thru mid-Sept -- had minimal issues with rad and used imodium as needed - bowels totally recovered within year of completing rad -- good luck on your journey
