hello to my cyber family.i have made a hard decision today on the advice of my radiologist.as i am seeing him for the scar tissue this cancer has left me.as many of you know i stay depressed most of the time because of the nasty side effects i have been left with.its been almost 6 months since chemo ended and i still have bad neuropathy and scar tissue in my bladder and vagina, that being said i am going to take a break from my cyber family and not have cancer on my mind 24/7.i like helping the newbies with any questions they have but getting on here day after day and just reading about cancer and thinking about cancer it is stessing me out among other things.some of you are able to work and go on with your lives.all i have ever done is factory jobs and my hands and feet wont let me do that anymore.the things i love to do are outside activities and it is too cold here in ky to do them.well i better get off here before i start crying.thanks buzzard, phil, diane and to all that have hung in there with me.just remember this is not good-bye just see ya later...Godbless....johnnybegood

you do what you need to do!
You do what you need to do! People will still be here when you decide to pop back in or anytime you just want to say hi. Totally understandable!
Anytime you want a little support or need a question answered, however, don't think you have to stay away- you know that people will chime in to give you support or answer a question.
You take care of yourself and God bless, johnnybegood!

    Hugs,

    Take Care
I totally understand your decision, I will miss reading your posts. Please remember to check in from time to time even if it is a one liner. Concentrate on yourself and hopefully the depression and vaginal and bladder issues can be resolved. In the past you have said how good and understanding your husband is to you, keep him close to your heart. Take care of yourself. Tina

    Take it easy!
Boy do I know where you are coming from. I too was very depressed and felt as if I could not be on the board thinking about my cancer all of the time. I try to limit my time here now, don't get me wrong, I love everyone on the board but everyone has to find their way of dealing with it. I took up crocheting, gardening and cleaning to keep my mind and hands busy. You'll find something don't give up, and just to know if you need something we all are here!
    Much love

I myself think it is a great idea. I struggled with it all the time about "if I hate cancer this much why do I dwell in here for so long and everyday"...I think that for me I went through the depression and took the meds and when I finally decided that I had my life back I took myself off of the meds and I am doing fine now. This was a hard decision for you im sure but its a decision that is in the best interest for you, and thats why we are all here, to help out our buds. You being one of them. I think you are making a great choice in your rehab from this journey you took. We love ya and we know that someday you'll be back and when ya are we also know that you'll be doing fine.....This site is like an addiction to me, its a must for me to come to everyday so if you get withdrawals from it and start to get ill and mean to hubby, just tell him its the DTs from this site...LOL...All kiddin aside we love ya and we will see ya again soon, no doubt about it....cause you know you can't stay away from all of us meanies..hehe........Love and Hope, Clift

    Hi

We have not conversed before, but I've read all of your posts and I am very familiar with your story and what you have been going through - you were just going NED shortly after I joined.

Your story always touched me because I know you fought so hard and you thought when you did your 12-treatments of Oxy and went NED, that things would go back to normal. The neuropathy and other issues you suffered from the chemo made me sad to hear about how you were feeling, and that you could not enjoy what you had achieved.

I still hope that time will heal you somewhat or that your condition will improve - I totally understand wanting to back away right now and focus on something else - do what you need to do to cope with the situation and we look forward to hearing from you when you want to.

    Awwww....
We'll still be here for you. I don't let depression take me anymore to dwell on hard facts that may put me in a dark spot. I don't think this board is a thing that contributes to it either, I find it helpful at most, and trying to encourage others much helpful. I will always have cancer whether I'm on this board or not, I will always think about cancer whether I'm here or not as well, I think of this board as also being in touch with friends, who have other past-times besides cancer as well, I just can't think of it as just a cancer board, this is also my family board who I enjoy being around with, and cancer won't take that away from me.

    Hugsss!

How Did You Get So Smart, Donna :)
Chicky, I could not have said it any better than what you said! And you are definitely RIGHT ON!

I come here to be with my friends as much as trying to help others. It's a "give back" sort of thing, where I want to help others because of how many years I spent alone fighting Cancer and don't want people having to suffer needlessly if myself or someone can give them a heads up...over and over I wish I had found this place when my journey started.

Anyway, your sentiments got me fired up and just had to respond to you :)

You're so smart - you just make me smile :)

    Me Lion...
It's always a good thing to know, that even while connected to a pump that I can make you smile :)

It's all said and true though, this is far from being just cancer board. Even though you found it later, at least you found it, and so glad you did!! You been such a wonderful asset here, and a loving friend and brother to people, you will always be in our hearts, just like everyone else is here now. This is a "2nd Family Board, cancer or not ;)"

    I'll miss you
You have been such an inspiration and encouragement on this board and always enjoyed reading all of your posts. I truly understand you decision and needing to heal yourself as you move forward with your recovery. I am sorry to hear that you are still struggling so with the after effects of this treatment. I hope that you continue to do well and work with your doctors for you to heal completely. I will think of you often as I always do, and pray for your complete recovery. May God Bless and keep you in his healing hands.

If you are interested and able, you might want to volunteer at a school, nursing home, hospital, United Way, Veterinarian's Office, etc. These positions could give you some good experience in the clerical field, etc. You can volunteer the number of hours you would like to. It is a great way for making new friends, feeling useful, and helping others. A win-win for everyone.
    Just a thought.

I'll miss reading your posts, and most of all I will miss seeing your sweet face in your picture. Every time I've seen a post of yours, I've thought that you look like such a sweet and kind person.

I pray that you will get relief, and that you will be less stressed. Hope you'll come by once in awhile to let us know how it's going.
