The toilet caper

After I was told I had Lymphoma it was decided that I needed a lower GI to check things out. So my father, brother and I drove 180 miles in the early morning to the hospital where this would take place. The first thing that scared me was this tube attached to a two gallon bag. The second thing is when they tell you its going in your butt and you have to hold all this fluid in while they do a scan that felt like it took hours.. I managed to keep things in during the test and the rush to the rest room. It was decided that we should have lunch at a steak house so off we went. I needed to use the restroom again to get rid of another gallon of fluid. This was not a problem. I had just bought my first pair of $240.00 glasses that we could barely afford as my cancer costs were running up. My wife told me I would face death if I lost them. I had them in my shirt pocket when I leaned over to flush the toilet. The glasses went into the toilet before I could flush it. So there were my new glasses in the bottom of the toilet in a mess that I can't even describe. The thought of divorce crossed my mind and I wondered what would be more costly. But I bit the bullet and reached in for my glasses. Then I quickly hit the sink for decontamination. Its quite amazing the amount of crap a guy will go through for his wife. Six years later I still use the same frames as I have been through so much with them lol. Slickwilly

It seems this particular board does not provide those update notices ("New"). Took me this long to come in and find this.
Well told, well told .
Take care,

I suspect you totally understand that story having been through cancer twice. And as you have been married for quite sometime, I figure you have had to follow your wifes directions also ha ha. Everytime I see the picture of you playing guitar it reminds me that I need a new one. Its great therapy even if I will never be a Kenny Wayne Sheppard. Heck I am still stuck in the 70's playing Neil Young and America. Have a good weekend and give that nurse wife of yours a hug. Slickwilly0
