I am so sorry to hear that you are still stuck there...I was praying you would be home now...Guess that didn't work out so well...
Keep asking for those pain meds and rest alot cause we all know how well they let you sleep in the hospital..lo lo lo
Take good care of yourself and do what they say...Don't be in such a rush to eat their food is not worth eating..
I will continue to pray for your recovery...JULIE

I am praying for you
Hang in there, when I was in the hospital I asked my husband to keep the TV off because of all of the food comercials, I know how tough it can be to be in there and hungry!! I pray for you and hope you get out of there soon. God Bless you, Patti0 -
Don't rush it
Don't rush it. If you need to stay a few extra days then that is the best place for you. Hope those bowel sounds wake up for you soon and your pain is well controlled. Who ever thought grumbling bowels and gas would be music to your ears. I wish you well my fellow Michiganian.0 -

It's so good to hear from you, but hate to hear you being in pain. Do they have you on a pain pump? I had one of those with diladin (sp?) and it was great, you are able to push a button that is clipped to your gown every 10 minutes or so when needed, while it still continuously also flows a certain amount all the time, it really helped me when I was in the hospital, including stuff to make me sleepy, like phenegran actually helped me sleep with the pain meds.
I'm glad to hear they are working your digestive system slowly, and really, by the end of the week, and with some walking around the hallways, you'll hopefully be able to eat more. They had me on some kind of protein and nutrients through the IV when I had my colostomy, so I wouldn't lose too much weight. But, definitely have the pain and pallative team come help you with the pain if the doctor and nurses aren't controlling it, they sure can
Much love and hugsss to you, will pray for your speedy recovery and hope you get out of there soon!
Hugsss!

I hope you feel better soon
It is crazy how much a person can even want hospital food when you can't have much. It always drove me crazy when I could smell my roommates food in the hospital and I was not allowed to eat anything. I will pray everything starts working right for you and you are free from pain.0 -
take it easy
Hi Kim,
Thanks for letting us know about your status. I'm sorry that you're still stuck in the hospital and I'll be praying for those bowels to wake up soon and for the pain to subside. I know it's definitely hard to get much rest in the hospital, but you hang in there. I read an article a while back that people who chew gum while in the hospital after bowel surgery "wake up" their digestive system sooner & tend to go home a day sooner. I guess chewing the gum starts the saliva going, then it also works on the peristalsis. I didn't know this when I was in the hospital myself, but maybe you can try it. I don't think it could hurt if hubby could bring in a few sticks of gum for you.
Take care!

Good to hear from you
Hi Kim.. It sure is good to hear from you even though you're are in pain. It take a few days for your bowels to wake up and maybe a few more sence they havent been used in a while. Keep walking if you can it helps to get everything moving. Hope you're home soon. You're almost done with the fight. Just one more step and you're done!!

Sorry you are in such
Kim,
Sorry you are in such pain, be patient. If your bowels aren't working yet they soon will be. When I went through my obstruction last month, all of the sudden in the middle of the night, things started to move. I bet you may experience the same thing. I was never so happy.
