Oh Kim, I was where you are a few months ago. No food for 10 days and waiting on my damn bowels to move. I hope things happen soon and you can get sprung from the Hospital!

Ask about TPN....liquid food!...if it gets too bad...
I had been hospitalized for a total bowel obstruction, so I was nothing by mouth....
I got so weak and hungry, that I asked for TPN (IV nutrition), since I was headed to chemo the following week...
BIG, warm hugs to you, my dear!
Hugs, Kathi -

Kim,
Hope you are home now
Kim,
Hope you are home now or headed that way! I know I was in for 7 days, took that long to get the colon awake. And I was starving- kept trying to bribe my mother to bring me just ONE bite of tunafish sandwich! The first couple of days at home were not exactly fun- colon confused, kept me running to the bathroom with urgency feelings and then NOTHING. My roommate was in for colitis issues and had the surgery to get the bag- she was in and out in 3 days! I kept whining to my surgeon about how unfair that was- looking back on it, I really feel for the staff on the colorectal floor at Mayo: having to put up with me!
