ROLL CALL: Cold and rainy weekend plans?!

Tonight, we might cool it with the going-out and eat a healthy dinner at home. With all the talk about nutrition lately, I am really committed to eating as well as possible. My nutritionist OKed a once-a-week cheat meal, but that usually turns into 3 times a week or more for me. I've already gone out to dinner once this week and that should be enough. We have plenty of good food at home, including a big salad of mesculen greens, spinach, alfalfa sprouts, radishes, and roasted potatoes with salt and fresh lemon juice as dressing; BBQ chicken thighs; salmon; sauteed mushrooms; and brown rice with anchovies. So maybe a dinner in and then a movie. I've been wanting to see "Where the Wild Things Are." Then, the above mentioned snuggling under our comforter and reading would be nice.
Saturday, I have my usual personal training in the morning and perhaps grocery shopping after that. The evening is more fun -- I have an appointment for a lip wax (not so fun) and a pedicure (very fun) in the late afternoon. Afterwards, I'll probably hang out at my favorite bar in old town, having fancy cocktails and waiting for Simon to pick me up for a housewarming party we'll be attending that evening.
Sunday, I plan to wake up and snuggle into a warm bath with a magazine and a cup of green tea. I will spend the day cooking and preparing for the week and maybe making some decisions about resuming film school and how to fit that into my life again.
Sooo, ladies, how will YOU keep warm this weekend?!?!
Mimi

Well, it's in the high 70's low 80's here...lol
I'm going to putter. It's been a frantic week, with work, looking for a house, and sorting thru all the stuff I dumped at my mom's house so that we could leave for Holland.
I just bought our tickets for December for Holland, we stay from 12/25 to 3/24/10. Anyone want to visit, let me know...plenty of cold and snow...lol!
Sunday we will go to the beach. Both for an antique market and to sit on the beach. Forcast is for high 70's...yeah!
Next Sunday is 18 years for my beau and I. His daughter works at a posh hotel in Hollywood, so she is making arrangements for us. Whew!
That's about it...
Hugs, Kathi0 -
It's going to be in the 70's
It's going to be in the 70's here and really nice. So I plan on sitting in the yard a bit every day to soak up the D. This gives the dog more out time also. She doesn't like staying out unless someone is with her.
I didn't make a goal list on Mimi's Monday Mustdo so I did the dusting and sweeping anyway.
I even drove yesterday and cranked up the radio and rolled down the window. Makes your spirit feel young again. Play that old rock and roll to soothe the soul.0 -

That's fantastic. You two are such a great couple and have been through so much together. And the posh Hollywood hotel sounds heavenly. I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time. I guess you're used to seeing celebrities all the time, but I would be speechless if I saw anyone except for politicians, whom I see quite often (not so exciting, believe me). Christmas in Holland sounds magical, too. I had a fantasy of spending Christmas in Paris this year, but it will probably be Christmas in southeastern Michigan with the parents, instead...Have fun!!0 -

My cousin is coming to town (now realize I'm 65 and she's 69) ... but we've got BIG plans. She'll be at my house when I get home from work ... then we'll go out to dinner ... then back to the house for some big scrabble and boggle games ... then zzzzzzzzzzz.
Tomorrow we'll head out for some breakfast (do you see a pattern here? I do NOT cook!) then maybe a little shopping then a late lunch/early dinner with my father and his wife. (Note: my father just turned 90 and still builds and flies remote controlled airplanes! His mind is sharper than mine has EVER been!)
Then Sunday ... a friend (I've known since kindergarten), my cousin and I are heading to French Lick Indiana ... and "donate" some money to the southern Indiana economy (casino... slot machines). I hate to admit it ... but I have "donated" enough that we get a hotel room comped ... so we'll be spending the night. It's a beautiful old hotel ... that's been restored. Google French Lick Springs Hotel ... and you'll see what I mean. Yep ... we're those 3 old ladies parked at the slot machines who never move except to eat or go potty. :-)
I'm really looking forward to a change in scenery ... especially since this is Homecoming Weekend here at Indiana University so it will be a 3-ring circus around here. The only problem is ... over the past few weeks/months ... my house has been very neglected as far as cleaning goes. Since my cousin was coming I was forced to do something ... so last night when I got home from the office I worked non-stop for 4 hours cleaning ... and I can honestly tell you that after I took a shower and went to bed ... I could hardly move. I ached from head to toe. And to top that off ... I didn't even do an A+ job on the cleaning... I just did what absolutely needed to be done. Thank goodness my cousin will understand ... or at least I hope she does ... :-)
Have a great weekend everyone!
hugs.

I'm jealous of all the nice weather you Californians and Floridians are having! How about a shout-out from some hardy Midwesterners and New Englanders? Seattle? North Dakota? Anyone?0 -

Teena, your weekend sounds fantastic. I hope you hit it big on the slot machines! Don't worry about the cleaning, I'm sure your cousin came for your company and not a spotless floor. If possible, I would urge you to have a professional cleaning service come in once in a while. Totally worth it and they make things shine. And I can't believe how spry your father is! That's awesome. Have fun!

It is in the 40's and drizzly rain here in the midwest! Yucky! I'd rather have snow than cold rain.
No special plans. Stay in with my cats, drink some tea and get some work done. fun, fun, fun!0 -

Well, since I just finished my rads on Monday, and, even if we did all go out and celebrate that night, hubby says that it was too crowded for a proper celebration. hmmmmm lol So, he is taking me out tomorrow night to a very nice romantic restaurant. I can't wait! I can put the heels on and strut my stuff. lol I asked him what was on the agenda afterwords, and, he just winked. UHOH! lol
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Love you,
Sue
p.s. My sister is pouting cause she can't go. lol Ok, I am joking. She will be leaving soon to go home and I am going to miss her. And, hubby still won't fill me in on the trip that I know he has planned to celebrate too. I am going to have to do some "hubba hubba" on him to get it out of him. lol

You've got some husband, Ritz. Enjoy the romantic restaurant, getting dressed up, and the afterwards (wink, wink).0 -
It's cold & chilly here in
It's cold & chilly here in the Midwest, but it feels kinda good (of course, I am experiencing perpetual summer). One of my grandsons has his last football game tomorrow & I hope I can go. I have had to miss all of them so far.
After weeks of dragging, I am finally starting to feel like my old self. There is life after bc!0 -

Hubby called back and guess what? We are staying home for pizza, a movie and popcorn! And, you know what? That sounds good to me! It is chilly here too and curling up together in front of the fireplace and watching a movie and pigging out on pizza sounds delicious to me! He has had a hard week at work and I know just wants to take it easy. And, he deserves it.
Thanks Mimi for another wonderful post for the weekend! We all love you!

Yep, that is what we are doing. My husband and I have some friends coming over and then we are going to see a movie and then get a bite to eat. Not sure what we are going to see and it doesn't really matter to me. I just know that it will be a good time, it always is.

sounds fantastic, girls. I think we might do something like that ourselves tonight. I'm home from work now, sitting on the couch with my thick, cushy robe on watching "The Golden Girls." Simon is going to be late and he wants me to wait to have dinner. Problem is, I'm starved! I've already had 2 olives, a bit of bread with a touch of olive oil, and a tiny bowl of granola. I need to stop eating! Wonder if we"ll go out tonight0 -

Secret plans may be
Oh Mimi,
Secret plans may be afoot. So don't overindulge in the snacking. I think we are going to have pizza (I love pizza) and watch a movie and just relax. Tomorrow we will be taking stuff to storage, Goodwill or Mission Solano, and going through the garage. We have done alot but there is still so much to do. UGH!! It seems unending but then I see how much we have done and I have okay with what is left. It will all get done sooner or later. But right now, this is what all my weekends seem to be. After we are done and moved, we are going to go to Yosemite with Denise, Kyle and the grandkids, even if it is cold and snowing. Just get a nice place at the lodge and enjoy some day hikes and the view of the falls. It might be January but we will get there.

You mentioned
Survivorbc09,
You mentioned your spider on another post and at that time there was nothing showing for your avatar. But now here it is. It is so cute. I love all the avatars, especially the moving ones. Makes me smile and smiles are good for our souls. Nothing creepy about it at all.
