I hate to say that this weekend, as last weekend, will not be such a happy one.
Our 14 yr. old dog will be put to sleep tomorrow. I'm spending this last night with her, just loving her.
My van is incapacitated, so am waiting for that to be worked on so that I have a way to get to the hospital, as hubby is still there. I was praying that he would be home for Father's Day, but not so sure about that.
I truly hope that by the time next weekend rolls around, things will be much happier here.

Well Mimi, today is our relay, so I walked the survivors lap, and then walked it again with my daughter. Then Wegman's provided the survivors and their caregivers a delicious dinner. After dinner, I did a few more laps and I'm now home and will go back early in the morning. Tomorrow I plan on organizing closets, doing laundry and food shopping. Sunday, it being father's day, I guess I will barbecue if the weather holds out. Hugs, Lili
...this Sunday is Father's day? I didn't even realize. Well, in that case, I would like to change my plans to include....taking my husband out to dinner!! Pammy0 -

How exciting Claudia, who are you meeting if you don't mind us asking? Hugs, Lili
Well, I am meeting a 3X BC survivor who I met in chat in late 2003~ we eventually became part of an online off-shoot made up of Kindred Spirits who "connected" in chat~ we were Peas in a Pod, so we called ourselves Podners. My first Relay I had a T~shirt made saying " Walking with Podners to Find a Cure". She doesn't post on the boards, but we talk 2 or 3 times a week on the phone, and have done so for a few YEARS now! This is our first opportunity to meet, so we are! She is married, works full times, and has an autistic teenage son, who has understandably taken all of her time as a Mom/Caregiver. This year, her son will be in a 5 day camp for autistic children, and whereas she doesn't feel she can leave the State,"just in case"~ I can visit her! Her name is SassySally (screenname) and she lives in Wisconsin. So~ I'm heading there on Monday by way of Denver.
We are going away to a cabin on a lake her family owns, and will swim, fish, drink wine, talk, talk, talk, sit out in the evening and talk some more and RELAX without a care in the world!
btw...I will NOT have my laptop with me, so if I don't post for a week...you will know why!
Hugs, and HOW WAS THE RELAY???

Probably just messing around here tomorrow. Nothing major. Hubby will probably mow the yard and work outside some. I love these kind of days, nothing planned. Then, we are going out to dinner with some friends. It will be a lot of fun!
Sunday, Father's Day, a cookout! Gotta give the man his reward! ( wink wink)0 -

Another weekend on the lake, with friends coming in to share the beauty. That's what you get when you move to paradise. We will grill, ride the party barge, visit friends on the lake, and generally relax this weekend. Hope all enjoy it as much as we will. Hugs.
Judy
I think we are going to just goof off and just enjoy tomorrow doing nothing! lol That is our favorite thing to do! Sleep in and take a nap and whatever!!!!!!!!!!!
Having a cookout for Sunday for Father's Day ofcourse! Cooking out..yummy! We will have plenty, so, you are all invited! Just going to enjoy our family!0 -
Lots of firsts for me this
Lots of firsts for me this weekend. Today is my first Relay for Life, today is also the first year anniversary of the lumpectomy, and Monday is the first mammogram since diagnosis. We're doing yard work this morning because in Texas it will be 100 degrees after lunch hour and this evening we're meeting friends at a mongolian stir-fry restaurant for dinner. On Father's Day it's tradition to let HIM decide what he wants to do. Surprise, surprise!0 -
Not much this week-end for me
Yesterday, Friday, in-between storms, we took my mother-in-law out for a belated 90th b-day dinner. Today, I need to clean the house, get a hair-cut (something I have enjoyed doing now for the past year and a half!), and then go to a grad party. Tmr, Father's Day, my hubby will probably want to go out for breakfast at the village cafe. Afterwards, I hope to work in my gardens. Monday, I will begin my summertime tutoring with a 14-year old in math and reading to try and get him ready for 8th grade.
A calm week-end. I'm procratinating on the cleaning part...can you tell?

Well.. This weekend didn't start so well... after everything I posted earlier, while I was at the surgeons office I recieved a phone call from my husband informing me that Child Protective Services was at our door and he had to pick up Liz from her summer adventure club so that they could interview her. Seems in her aunt (who has mental issues as my sister-inlaw does) Reported an "urgent abuse" alligation and they "had" to make contact with the child today. That had me running out of that office and back home.. leaving my sister sitting with the surgen who has decided he wants her overy out now and to wait on the liver biopsy because the mass there has doubled in size in one month... So home to explain to the case worker from cps what has been going on with my niece... That will all turn out fine they agreed that she is safe and that "other factors" are in play.. man some people.
So... tonight Chinese Food and Chick flicks as someone earlier recommended, with my niece and my daughter... tomorrow cleaning, maybe my hubby and I will take a drive... just a relax day... Sunday I really need to hit the books.. and since I'm still recovering from surgery.. take things a little easy!
Cheers
