My doc gave me Ativan for
My doc gave me Ativan for anxiety for some procedures being done and later I was told I could take it with my anti-naseau meds to help them along and to take it to sleep at night. So if you have Ativan I would try that. I do not like taking meds AT ALL but it is not too bad to take. Good Luck and by the way the baby in the picture is beautiful!

I suggest telling your doc you can't sleep again. It may just be from stress and not the meds you are taking. I thought everyone had Ativan. Everyone I know it's like they tell you you have cancer and give you ativan. The social worker at my onc office told me if I can't sleep then tell her so maybe try that. I am sure there is a social worker at your doc office. Anyway I know that having kids around keeps you going. I have 3 girls ages 6, 4 and 21 months. They make me smile everyday!

My pain meds...
made me wakeful, too. I was given generic Xanax (Alprazolam), 1 mg., to try. I only took 1/2, and it helped me sleep pretty much through the night (I took it along with the pain pill- Hydrocodone).
Good luck..there's nothing as horrible as sleep deprivation (I know from experience.)
Love you,

Sleep, Sleeepppppp...watch the pen, sleeeeeppppppppppp.
I know, it's awful.
I hope you get over this really soon, you have been through a lot, and the build up to surgery and the drugs may well be causing this.......Get some ativan......they only work for about 3 hours (No Hangover in the morning)...But they will let you get off to sleep and then you will take over and stay asleep........you only need them for a short time, I only took them for 3 weeks, not every night either......I wish you well......Brave lady.....Hugs Jxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Isn't being a grandma fun? I just LOVE it. But those little guys take a lot of energy and yu eed your sleep. I agree with the others advice to work with the oncologist to get the right cocktail that will do the job. Sometimes I can sleep if there is a fan going or my noisemaker. But most of the time, I rely on Zolpidem and Xanaz. I dread having to go off them someday. But a gramma has to sleep. So get those magic pills for this difficult time. After you start sleeping better, you can experiment with which ones work best. There are several choiced out there Ihear. Let me know what you try. I w'll try them too.0 -

I hope you can get some sleep. My oncologist gave me sleeping pills right from the start of the diagnosis. Call your doctor. I am sure they will give you something.0 -

Okay.. I'll take it.. seriously.. I am glad to know that you are able to sleep.. Your body does most of it's healing while your resting and I want you back on your feet quickly... I know maybe you can give me some of the sleepy.. while I give you enough wide eyed to be able to tell us all about your hottie... I knew you'd have a hottie .. somehow some way.. that way we can both get healed up quick...
Love & hugs

Sleep
T, I swear by Xanax. I took one low-dose pill every night during the worst of my diagnosis and treatment and it relaxed me enough to have a long, sound sleep every night. My anestisiologist tsk tsked it and said that it was habit forming, but I had absolutely no trouble stopping it when I no longer needed it. A few months into treatment, I simply stopped taking it. Good luck and I hope you get your Zsss.0 -

A cocktail made with rum, sugar, lime, mint... I don't know if either the word C-O-C-K or T-A-I-L will make it past auto censor!
Hic!
