Bittersweet Day

Ladies & gents, I'm posting today even though I got into a little funk. Two years ago today, I got the news that I had invasive ductal carcinoma, and it kind of brought all of the emotions of that day rushing back. Though I am very thankful and grateful that I am here, watching my children grow and reaching new mild stones in their lives, the little devil on my left shoulder just asked for a minute, why me. As I am going through pictures to put a collage together for my daughter's 16 birthday, I notice all the changes that I've gone through both physically and emotionally. So, I just wanted to say THANK YOU GIRLS for being here for me. Tasha, you have no idea how your posts and jokes uplift me on the days when I most need it. You are all the best!!!! And..... I couldn't have gotten through it without all of your support. Thanks to all for your insightful posts and your cyber support. Love you all, Lili

    Lili, sorry your anniversary threw you into a funk, but look on the bright side! See how well you are doing! It looks like you have everything going right for you, and I hope your funk goes soon! Just to let you know, you were the first to respond when I came on and posted here, I did it really backwards, didn't introduce myself, just jumped in, and you were right there offering help. So thank you too very much!

I know how these funks can be..and how much the beast steals from us, but Think of how far you have come you are surviving!! and I admire you and your courageous and sweet spirit.

    I hate to sound like a broken record, BUT
    Lili was one of the first to reply to me too, and, one of the first to add me as her friend, which I was so excited and happy about. You are an inspiration to all of us Lili and always have written the sweetest, nicest, most informative words to me. I am so sorry that you are in a funk, but, I truly understand. But, the good part Lili is..you will come out of it! Congrats on your survival and I wish you so many, many more years free of the beast! So, put a smile on that beautiful face, give your hubby a kiss and sing " I am woman, hear me roar", or, something like that. lol Love, Jeanne

    Lili... How well I know the funk. Like so many have said before me, you were one of the first to greet me and make me feel welcome. Hope tomorrow is a brighter day.

    I love seeing all the sheep and lambs in the pastures around here, so I couldn't resist adding this food art. image

    Lili sorry you had a rough day, anniversaries of this type can be unsettling. You are an awesome lady who even though you have had to battle to be here you are oh so willing to help others. Your kind words and support during the anniversary of the loss of my sister and during my reconstruction were admirable to put it lightly. You are a survivor and an awesome one at that. I know it is tough but so are you in a gentle kind of way. I am honored to know you! Hope your tomorrow is better, congrats to your 16 year old daughter another milestone.

    Dear, sweet Lili. I agree with all of the other ladies here. You have been an anchor in my otherwise crazy life.

    I'm so sorry that you are down, but girlfriend, look how far you have come in such a short amount of time! Look at the people's lives that you have touched, with your wisdom and your loving concern! You have lifted so many out of similar "funks", and I for one, am sooo happy to know you. Thank you for being Lili.

    You are very much loved by all.....

    Each year of good health is a blessing to be acknowledged especially when you're a cancer survivor. It's important to mark anniversaries to remind us that another year has passed. I'm right behind you with June being my one year anniversary since diagnosis. Good luck and here's to many more cancer free years...for both of us!

    There is no one quite like you..your heart is so big, and your generosity, especially emotionally, fills the room. We certainly understand the anniversary funk; it is what it is. No explanation needed.

    I know you have surrounded yourself with what is good about Your Life, and that it certainly outweighs that irritating mortality tap on your shoulder!
