Awaiting doctors call
The bandages are off and other than bruising and some hard areas my breasts are feeling better, little sore but better than right after the biopsy.
Well I have to go and get my van fixed and picked up our loner car and then the fam and I will be out and about. I will check in later. My dd has her last doc appt with a doc that has been treating her asthma for the past 7 years. He is a great doctor, treated my children and I have worked with him also. He is leaving for different experiences and we are sad to see him go.
Thankyou so much for all the support this is such an awesome group of individuals. I am in awe of how much support this board has been not to mention some of the jokes have had me ROFLMAO.

Hope you hear soon....the wait is sooooo miserable, isn't it? I also hope they order the breast MRI for you, that is how my cancer was found. I will keep my fingers crossed for you Pammy
I hope that you hear soon too. The waiting is awful and they just don't realize that. And, I hope you get the MRI too. It is a valuable tool in discovering anything new in your breasts. I had one done and it was kind of weird but also showed nothing new in my breasts, so, I was very pleased.0 -

Kit; I haven't heard back, either. The weekend wasn't so bad because it was the weekend. But now that the weekend's over--I just want to know something. I came on thinking you would have heard back by now.0 -
Waiting...
Kit and Austingirl, I am thinking good thoughts for you. Isn't the waiting awful? Kit, if the biopsy is suspicious, they will most likely order an MRI becuase of your age and dense breasts. I got one automatically, as do the majority of women in this situation.
And you're right, no news is usually good news. Fingers crossed.

Mimi;
I have always thought that the biopsy was the end of the line when determining whether what is in your breast is cancer. I have never had a breast MRI, although I have been asking about them this past year, and was wondering, what would it would show that a boipsy wouldn't?
Thanks!

The MRI shows the rest of the breast. Picks up more than any other test. Determinds if there is any more cancer in the breast that the mammy did not pick up.0 -

I had to call the docs to remind them to call me it seems. The nurse called and said that the Dr. looked at the report and said that there were no a-typical cells so that its benign. The right one looks as though its a fibroadnoma but they arent sure what the left one is, but that its benign. Which is great, I asked about the breast MRI and they said that instead of the mammo in 6 months that they will do the MRI. I asked about one for now because 1. for added piece of mind that they biopsied the right thing on the left. 2. Because I just want to be 100%. She said she didnt understand as to why I want one because it will just show these lumps, almost like whats the point is how she was sounding. I dont know maybe I'm being stupid but I just want to make sure. This is my 2nd yr with this and they are sure that they are new growths especially on the left. I will see what the doc says.
Do you think I should just let it be? Maybe I am not making sense and should just listen to the docs and wait 6 months for the recheck.0 -

Waiting is stressful, for sure. Please keep us informed. I'm still hoping for the best possible outcome for you, hoping we'll all have a reason to celebrate with you.

It's great that you got much information- and good news, it seems! - from the nurse. And, with absolutely no disrespect meant to her or any nurse (because they are truly angels on earth) - a nurse is not a doctor. So, I'll simply suggest you make your request directly to your doctor. Since this is not the first time you've had a breast issue (you state second year), I think your request for an MRI - even if just for "peace of mind" - is not unreasonable. Or, perhaps your doctor will provide additional information that will put you at ease, even without an MRI right now. Good luck, and best wishes to you.

thankyou
I have an appt with him this week. I'm just not sure if I should be persistant or not.
I should be exstatic, and I am, but just want to be cautious, I am probably just worrying for no reason.
I hope you all know how much I have apprecaited all of your guys prayers and insight. Thankyou for being there when I needed someone to talk to. If I can help any of you all just let me know.

Congrats, Kit;
I am still waiting, and I am starting to get a little agitated. I will call in the morning if they haven't called back. I completely understand what you mean when they don't want to do the MRI. It seems you have to be very persistent to get them to go the extra mile, just to be sure. Glad it was benign, by the way! Stay on 'em if for some reason something doesn't feel quite right:)0
