Biopsy on Friday
It is right under an old biopsy scar from when I was 23 years old. I am 46 years old, and I have had my eyes open for the last ten years, going for those mammos, and trying...TRYING..each year to get the ultrasound to go with it. Never again will I take NO for an answer. Thanks for letting me rant.

I just want to wish you the best of luck Austingrl! Everyone needs to rant every now and then, and, this is a great place to do it at. The core biopsy will tell you what is going on. I had one after my mammogram showed microcalcifications. Good luck!0 -
Warm welcome, austingrl!
Though sorry for the reason you joined us here. As you already know, we must each always be our own best advocate for health care - no matter the issues. So, yes, good for you for speaking up on your own behalf. Thank goodness you did.
I'll be hoping for the best possible outcome - benign - from your upcoming biopsy on Friday. Please do keep us posted regarding the final results. We all love good news around here; again, I'll be sincerely hoping we'll be able to celebrate with you.
Best wishes. And...
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I was told the breast MRI shows everything, better than anything else they have. Now I am pretty new to this so I could be wrong on my information, and I have been filled with a lot lately. This is what I think my surgeon told me.
Austingrl, welcome to the group, and know you are surrounded by individuals who have walked the path you have to look forward to traveling. Let's hope the biopsy shows nothing, but in case you need us further, you will always find someone who has "been there, done that" to assist you through the journey. I will have you in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how things come out. Hugs.

P.S. I am from Jacksonville, TX, just southeast of Dallas. Lots of us Texans here, and always willing to help.0 -

Thanks, everyone, for the warm response! Hopefully, this will only be scar tissue. Trying to stay in the 'now'. I will have someone driving me there, and still another person holding my hand while they stick me with the core needles. Thanks goodness for this site, and for all the besutiful survivors willing to give their time and support. What a blessing!!0 -

I also have the core needle biopsy on friday on both breasts. I had the biopsy on my left breast and a double lumpectomy on both breasts last year. The results from last year were that they were benign. But the spots I have now are new. Did the radiologist give you a BiRad score?
Mine was a 4. I pray that your biopsies are benign.
This is a great place for support.0 -

I hope you don't mind my asking you, but, your posting puzzled me. Why would you have a double lumpectomy if you didn't have cancer? Wouldn't you just have a biopsy first to determine if it is cancer or not? And then, when it showed up benign, you would be spared a lumpectomy. And, did you have an MRI and core guided last year? I don't understand why you would have had a lumpectomy on both breasts. Sorry, but I am just confused. And, I don't mean to pry. And, good luck Friday Kit!0 -

My wishes for benign results on Friday, ladies. I like Austin's attitude of staying in the "now." Keep it up and let us know how things went.

I didn't think to ask them that. I was too busy asking them how large the mass was, to which the lady said she didn't know. I forgot to mention that this lump is sitting between two of my many cysts. I wish there was a clinical trial that is aimed specifically at perfecting MRI for women with dense breast tissue like mine. I threw the MRI suggestion out to one doctor already this year, and I was told the false + rate is too high. I really wish something could change with that so women like me can get better monitoring. I forgot to mention also that this mammogram and one last year were digital.0 -

I will be thinking of you both on Friday. Most lumps do turn out to be benign, and I pray for that outcome for each of you.
By the way, Kit, I love your pup! Did you say her name is Daisy?0 -
