chenheart your posts always provide a lovin' spoonful

The Lovin' Spoonful - Do You Believe in Magic Lyrics

Send “Do You Believe in Magic” Ringtone to Your Cell

Do you believe in magic in a young girl's heart
How the music can free her, whenever it starts
And it's magic, if the music is groovy
It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie
I'll tell you about the magic, and it'll free your soul
But it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout rock and roll

If you believe in magic don't bother to choose
If it's jug band music or rhythm and blues
Just go and listen it'll start with a smile
It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try
Your feet start tapping and you can't seem to find
How you got there, so just blow your mind

If you believe in magic, come along with me
We'll dance until morning 'til there's just you and me
And maybe, if the music is right
I'll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night
And we'll go dancing, baby, then you'll see
How the magic's in the music and the music's in me

Yeah, do you believe in magic
Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl's soul
Believe in the magic of rock and roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
    Ohh, talking 'bout magic

Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe, believer
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
    [Fade]

    Funny how the Lovin'Spoonful
Funny how the Lovin'Spoonful was so popular, but John Sebastian only had one hit on his own~the theme from Welcome Back Kotter!

I will be humming Do You Believe In Magic all day now, no doubt. And, for the record, I think that ALL of the ladies in here have "young girls' hearts". If we didn't, we would't fight to live, or laugh with each other, or worry about our hair and how we look, and we certainly wouldn't have made this many BFF's!!!

And, I do believe in magic, every single day.

    Hugs,
    Claudia

    Fleetwood Mac!
Aaah, those were the days! (daze?)

    Kind regards, Susan

P.S.: Their song you reference (chemo brain is preventing me from remembering the actual title!) makes me cry now, post BC... "I've been afraid of changes, because I built my life around you..."

    FleetWood Mac/Dixie Chicks
The song is Landslide, and the Dixie Chicks had a nice version of it too! Back in 2004, I "adopted" Christina Aguillara's song as the Chatroom Anthem: "We are beautiful, no matter what they say, words can't bring us down". I think I will post that on Jackie's thread ( our sweet rjjj is being inundated with negative vibes at work)

    Hugs,

Boise???? I LOVE Boise! My darling brother lived there for years~ and my ex's family was from Midvale ( and yes, I know of the Weiser Fiddle Festival!) I have wonderful memories of vacations spent in Idaho~ enjoy the walk! We absolutely will be walking together!!! Whoooo hooo~ I PROMISE to take baby steps so that we are in concert, ok???? (and, I'll chant your name if you chant mine!!!!)

    Hugs,
    Claudia

    Midvale
Well aside from Larry Craig, which makes Midvale a bit of an embarrassment, I gotta tell ya I live about 3 towns north, so you know the territory. And yes, the wonderful world famous Weiser Fiddle Festival.

OF COURSE I will be chanting your name! Lynn

    Claudia, It was fun looking
Claudia, It was fun looking down all the posts to you. Re - are you getting your drains out after they put in the softies? Wow. I am still getting fills, or maybe, at 10 cc's, drips. Anyway, Chennie, if you run out of mantras AND have the energy (of course you will) I'll take a chorus of Happy Birthday while you walk. 51 years old for me that day. Love to spend it with you in karmaville.
As far as Cat Stevens goes, didn't he have a song something like:
I'm being followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
And if I ever loose my breast
    I won't moan and I won't kvetch (oh yeah?)
And if I ever loose my hair
Away, I won't have to comb no more.
    love Joyce (combin' and kvetchin'!)

    well happy birthday, sister.
Joyce, My birthday is the next day, Sunday. So let's raise a glass and have some of one of my three favorite foods....birthday cake! I'm not sure Cat Stevens would go for "kvetch," but ain't havin hair grand? Lynn

    YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND
First please I defer my "Magic Crown" to all of you as each of you is special and dear to me. Second I could not just post a bit of this song as in its whole it speaks to all of us. Love you all! Now for a bit of James Taylor.

    When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.

    Chorus
You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah baby
    To see you again.

    Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
    You've got a friend.

    If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.

    Chorus
You just call out my name
And you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
    Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
    People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

    Chorus
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.

Oh babe, don't you know that,
    Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
    You've got a friend.
    You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.

    Tea For The Tillerman
Yes...I agree. I like the back and forth between the Father and Son; very poignant. Cat Stevens, aka Yusef Islam.

Ok, I promise that I will chant Jean-knee along with Mar-sha, etc etc etc...I hope I don't get too overwhelmed trying to remember just how to prounounce all of your names !! If I do, I'll just start chanting "BC Boards, CSN, BC Boards, CSN" I don't think I have time to alphbetize your names by Saturday! Oh No~ my OCD is showing! (If any of you or your family members is indeed suffering from OCD, I apologize~ I am truly not making light of a serious situation, I'm just being a smart-a$$)

    Hugs,
    Claudia

    Admiration
I have nothing but admiration for all of you who will be walking, running ... doing relays etc. Right now there's no way I could do a "Relay for life" ... and I'd be lucky to even do a "Mosey for life." I have absolutely NO energy. I get winded just walking up the stairs. After tomorrow's taxol/herceptin ... I'll "only" have 3 more of those treatments ...and I hope some of the energy starts coming back soon. I'll start radiation after that ... and I hear that can cause fatigue ... so I can't imagine what it will feel like with fatigue on top of what I feel now.

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

    hugs.

    My favorite tune...
After the chemo had done it's work, I perversely walked around humming 'When I get older, losing my hair....'

Of course, my dear Hans (who is pictured here), said "Well, it has been said that as we grow older together, we start to look more like each other!" To which I responded "Yeah, but I plan on growing mine back...care to join me????"

    PIP - another Queen fan...
    Yep, me, too!

Saw them live in concert, many times, back in the day... Way before some of their songs became anthems for the sports arenas...

Aw, sweet Freddie Mercury. What a voice he had, eh?

More importantly - glad you have your computer up & running again. Even more glad you're doing well following surgery. Best wishes for speedy recovery without serious complications.

    Kind regards, Susan
