I have gone back to school, online, to get my masters and my computer time these days is full of it. And I sure do miss my time here.
For my old friends, that may mean something. But, I am writing for the new friends on here too. I came on this board about a year and half ago, scared to death and obsessed with my BC journey (mas, chemo, rads). No one cried and worried more than me. So, when I tell you that eventually, after incredible pain AND incredible personal growth, life comes back like a stray cat...you can believe it. It will be so for you also! Not that my stray cat life doesn't have a few battle marks, but she still purrs and it is nice to have her back.
Best wishes to all of you. I will try to catch up a little, but goodness...there are so many posts....
love to you, Joyce

meow too
Hello Joyce, I am one of the newbies here, and I love the cat references! Congrats on going back to school, it is quite an accomplishment. I am now a 2 year survivor, partial mast, chemo, rads, now on arimidex for almost a year and a half. I joined because I thought I could help others, but find I am more on the receiving end than the giving. Welcome back to the family!

One of the Old Friends
Joyce, wow are you something! Congrats on going back to school to get your masters that is wonderful to hear. I have missed you, however now that I know why you are here less I am happy for you.
Yes my friend I had the second step surgery to have the implant put in last Thursday and I am relaxing (way too much) here at home. My doc said I cannot do anything at all for 2 weeks so I have one more super boring week to go. I am extremely glad to see you because you my friend were such a cheerleader for me when I was deciding if I would go ahead with the reconstruction or not. Thanks for being such a great gal!
Many Hugs to you,
RE

Great to See You
Hi, Joyce, what a nice surprise to see your post this morning. I have missed you, too!
I think it's wonderful that you have gone back to school. Thanks for reminding us that there is life--and wit--after chemo. I hope you are enjoying your classes, and not getting too much of what we used to call "busy work!"
p.s. the stray cat simile is purrfect. So glad to have your unique voice and point of view back, in between coursework, of course!0 -
aka The Hampster
Hi kiddo. Glad to hear that you are pursuing your Masters. Way to go, girl. I don't post like I used to except when I think I may have something to add, but I'm here almost everyday trying to stay up on what's going on with everyone. I remain convinced that this is the greatest group of people ANYWHERE.
Take care. Hugs, the Hampster!0 -
Hey old friend!
Thanks for checking in!!!
Sounds like we are kindred spirits, I'm starting back to school, for my second Bachelors degree, this one in Criminal Justice. One of the things on my list of 'What do I want to be when I grow up' was Paralegal! So, I am checking into online schools, so that I can study both from here, and in Holland!
I LOVE the cat image! You are so right...but MY life, 3 years later, is like a beautiful, show-class persian cat...ROFL!
Please keep us posted, and big, warm hugs are sailing your way!
Hugs, Kathi0 -

Yahoo, Jackie, on completing TX. As I always write, because it was my experience, if you feel a few more bumps (emotional) in the road, I think it is perfectly normal. There are lots of posts on this site (I know cause I wrote some when I needed them) about gaining the skills and perspective to live your new life. It ain't always easy, but now is the time when wisdom will settle on you, I think.
Warmest wishes, Joyce0 -
