Walking and Chanting....for YOU!
As you might imagine, this event is super-charged with good energy and tears. In some respects it is like the Relay For Life, in that there is a Survivors Tent, and interviews with survivors as well as T-shirts and people walking to either honor or remember someone.
Christina Applegate, recent BC survivor is this years Grand Marshall. A wise choice, I am sure you will agree!
At any rate, I want you to know how I keep focused for both this 5K and the Relay. I picture ALL of your names, avatars, or pictures and I chant your screennames under my breath as I walk with my friends. ( My bib number is 29,365)I feel so much closer to you, and connected in ways that truly matter when I put your names to the steps I take.
So, in case your feet feel tired mid morning on Saturday, or your calves ache a bit, or maybe if you just happen to feel a burst of Good Karma and energy~ it's because you are doing the 5K with me~ we all always united in purpose!
I thought you might want to know!
Hugs,
Claudia

Thanks, Claudia. I could use
Thanks, Claudia. I could use a burst of good energy/good Karma. By the way my name is pronounced like 'Marsha' just so my Karma doesn't go to someone else! You wouldn't believe the number of people who call me Mar-cee-a (usually people who see it written first).0 -
I'll watch the news....
Thank you, dearheart, for the effort!!! Please stay hydrated...it's to be hot this weekend!
I will be walking a survivor's lap at a local Relay on Saturday morning...I wait until September to do my 5K in Fashion Island with Komen...
Hugs, Kathi0 -
Thank you Claudia
I am so proud of you and proud that you will have our names in your heart and on your lips. I will be there in spirit every step you take. We are indeed kindred spirits and I can almost feel that burst of energy and good Karma coming our way...I will stop and say a prayer mid-morning for you and all of our other sisters in Pink.
I do agree that Christina Applegate is a very good choice. I love her!
I hope you will feel us all running or walking along side of you. and Thank you I did want to know.
all my love

Don't take to big of steps or you won't get all of our names in. And I want mine in there. That is so sweet of you. Will be thinking of you Saturday.

Thank YOU, Claudia!
Heartfelt KUDOS to you for your efforts to "give back"... And most sincere THANKS! for bringing all of us here along for the walk! Best of luck to you and your team! You GO, girl!!! I will certainly be with you "in spirit" on Saturday!
I absolutely LOVE to hear of fellow BC survivors who become activists for our cause. Doesn't matter what nor how it's done... Not everyone can even attempt a 5K. However, almost everyone can donate - even if just $1 - to a worthy BC-related cause. Or simply wear a pink ribbon pin. Every bit helps.
I've participated in the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk event for fund-raising & awareness for the past 5 years. This upcoming October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, will be my 6th. (For anyone interested - there's more info about this on my personal blog here on the site.) I walk AS a survivor, in HONOR of all of my fellow survivors (so this year, will include all of my newfound friends here amongst the CSN!), and in MEMORY of all those who unfortunately lost the battle. For me - this is my very personal aspect of the "awareness" portion of my own efforts. In regards to the "fund-raising" part of the experience - I walk for the FUTURE. With unmeasurable HOPE for a real cure. So that those who may follow in our footsteps are spared, one and all.
With respect, admiration, and gratitude for your purpose, Claudia - and always with...
Kind regards, Susan0 -

Love the fact that you do this, even if your 5K is only a few steps, the thought behind those 25 foot legs walking for all of us is awe inspiring! You will obviously be "head above" all the others walking! Take care sister!

Thank you!!! I will be thinking of you on Saturday and cheering you on all the way.

Yeah RE, did you learn programming with your extra time since you've become a princess?
Well quite obviously I have had a lot of time on my hands recently! I did a small load of laundry yesterday and my husband scolded me (kindly). Geesh I feel like a rather sluggish princess! I am hoping to get these drains removed tomorrow, wish me luck!
Lot of hugs and then some!!!

J - You are NOT "thick"! You are a horticultural genius, a talented wordsmith, and a successful fish breeder.
RE is simply MAGIC. We mere humans, no matter how wonderful, cannot compare ourselves with MAGIC.
Kind regards, Susan
P.S.: That Claudia, another MAGIC woman.0
