2 years from today I had surgery to remove a polyp. It was stage III with 2 out of 10 nodes had cancer. From that day on my life has changed. I had 6 months of chemo and was sick but I made it through. Sometimes I wish I was back before cancer but this happen for a reason what I don't know. I'm telling you this to show you that there is hope after cancer. I feel great I'm NED and hope to stay that way. I'm not saying that it was easy but I feel that it has made me stronger. I have done things that I wouldn't have done before I dx. I'm traveling more I cherish every moment I have with my children. I remember when I was first dx and I found this site the people where so helpful and compassionate. There is hope after cancer we just have to fight and believe that someday there will be cure for it.. For all the newbies I got great advise on this site 2 years ago someone told me I will survive it and I did..

    Great News!
    Hi Michelle,
Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I am just over 5 years past surgery, and, like you, feel that this disease has changed me in ways I never anticipated. My dad (who died of colon cancer at age 85) always said "Every trial makes you stronger". Enjoy your life.
    All the best, Judy

    Congratulations!
Live for each day. I can only dream now of getting better, but I always think of my favorite quote from James Dean:

"Dream as if you'll live forever, Live as if you'll die tomorrow" :)

I have always lived day by day even before I was diagnosed, I love it :)

I, too, am two years away from diagnoses
I was diagnosed January 8, 2007, I polyp, 2 lymph nodes out of 19 positive. Surgery, chemo (I was sick as could be) and 28 days of radiation with 5FU - standard folfox treatment. I am currently NED and eternally greatful. I have had a few small blips, but - who cares.

    Congrats
I remember when you were first dx. It was around the same time as my hubby. So glad you are doing well and so nice of you to share the hope. God Bless, Diane
