Heal soon!
Hope you're up and about soon, and heal fast. I know surgery is not an easy thing. I've never been afraid of being put under the anesthesia at all, it's waking up in the middle of it because they hadn't given me enough..haha..
Hope you are well and come talk to us soon! let us know how things went! we're praying and pulling for you!
Hugsss!

Thanks Buddy!
Yep, I have a million things to do...mostly to do with the magazines. But along about midnight last night, I had a revelation - I DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALL! This is why God gave me those two wonderful employees...they can handle it. So today I am cleaning up a few loose ends, and getting my guest room ready for my best friend of 40 years to come and take care of me. We are going to have fun...OK, as much fun as I can after surgery! But she can sit by my bed and regale me with stories, and make me walk and eat and all the good things I'll have to do. But not laugh....I'll save that for after I heal. Oh, and she can dispense drugs on demand...that's a must!
Thank you for always being there for me, and others. God is good to give me such wonderful, supportive friends.
Vicki
PS - Donna, OK, now I have to worry about waking up?? LOL! I am such a control freak that my family warned the doctor that I'll probably want to do the operation myself....0 -

It's just something I always feared! waking up in the middle of a surgery, and looking at all the surgeons around me, and just screaming because I could see on the TV's my whole body opened up.. worse nightmare! that's why I like ALOT of drugs before even being touched with anything haha...0 -

How wonderful old friends are!!! My best friend of 37 years (not quite 40) came twice after my surgery to help my husband out. She was actually with us when we got the path report that said it wasn't Stage 1 but Stage 3 and cried with me. I know that your friend will be a great help/comfort to you. I will be thinking of you and praying for you today and tomorrow. I know that you will be fine - no waking up during surgery - and your recovery will be easy. My advice for today is to stay as busy as possible and realize it's okay to be a little stressed. After surgery take the time you need to recover.
Hugs,

The revelation AND your friend coming to care for you! That is certainly something to look forward to! And don't worry about the anesthesia, they have it down to such an art now they can bring you back up at just the right time. I always like meeting my anesthesiologist during the pre-op. I laughed at your comment about wanting to do the operation yourself! Take care and enjoy today.

My son-in law is an anesthesiologist and has prepared me ad nauseum. I am not so afraid as I was last week...now I just want to get 'er done. Side note, one of my friends (OK, acquaintances) actually suggested that Scott be the anesthesiologist on my case! 3 things wrong with that -1. EEWWW...he's my SIL! 2. He does not work at that hospital, and 3. EWWWWWWW.

Can you imagine the nightmares he would have whenever they visited? I am sure he is very professional, but that would just not be a memory you would want your SIL having of you!

Sweet dreams, my dear. Visualize that it is already over, and you are back home. Don't worry about the surgery, or the anesthesia...there are trained professionals for that! I agree, though, on No to your SIl...ewwwwww! From that point forward,he could say he knows the 'real you'...

You want irony with a capital I??? I live for chocolate, and Godiva especially. For the holidays, I sent my writers Godiva baskets. As a Thank You for the business, Godiva sent me two boxes of chocolates. They arrived TODAY! I had to hide them from myself! LOL! Wait, if I melt them, is that on my liquid diet! Not clear, though....
