A friend of mine just sent me this audio CD that is designed for relaxation and guided imagery during chemotherapy. I'm not usually into "new agey" stuff like this, but I just listened to it and it did give me a sense of peace and relaxation. I will probably transfer it to my itouch and listen while undergoing treatments. It's called "Guided Imagery for Chemotherapy." I'm sure there are many similar items like this on the market. Anything that can help...

By Belleruth Naperstek? Her CD's are great. I wished I had listened to them during chemo, I found them afterward and enjoyed the General Health and Wellness one to help me feel better about my body. She has a nice webpage called Health Journeys. I never gave anything New Agey a second glance before DX, but now have learned a lot and healed a lot through alternative ideas (and yoga). love, Joyce

No, it is by Ellen Chernoff Simon. She has a really soothing voice. I did look up Naperstek's site, and her stuff seems good, too. I will probably buy a few of these to mix it up during treatment. Yoga sounds like something to try as well. Is this something you got into after your treatments were over?

Yes, after, but I wish I had started earlier. My yoga studio has something called restorative yoga that holds positions with pillows for 10 minutes at a time, no strain, that would have been great durin chemo. Yoga really helped me after TX when I felt like things would never be good again...everyday that I went to yoga, I saw and felt my body getting stronger, more able. On the day I did a handstand, something I hadn't tried in years, I almost cried to feel a connection with my former healthy self.
Also, if you have Kaiser, they offer free entire CD listens to alot of Belleruth Napersteks CDs, including ones on sleeping, anxiety, etc.
I hope you are feeling better. Don't get discouraged when you have a bad day. It just isn't a smooth ride. Get through each day as best as possible and don't make any conclusions for a while.
    Hugs, Joyce
