1. Learn to PLAY--it's the source of youthful energy.

2. PAUSE before you eat; reconnect with your sense of taste.

3.Small, conscious actions can sustain your SPIRIT.

4. PACE yourself. Fatigue has a way of sneaking into our lives.

5. Set LIMITS. No one said you have to do it all.

6. Desire is an EXPRESSION of your deepest self; follow its lead.

7. Physical pain sends a message; LISTEN to it.

8. A sense of humor keeps you grounded; LAUGHTER opens you up to the divine.

9. Stress can't be outrun. It must be FACED head-on.

10. Celebrate every milestone. Where you've been has EVERYTHING to do with where you're going.

  • Those are beautiful. What is the source? They made me think. Especially true, for me, small conscious actions can sustain your spirit. There is a chasidic teaching that one should consider the world perfectly balanced between good and evil - and the next thing you do will tip the scales in one direction or another. The same can be true of our spirits in troubled times. The next small decision to be happy, or at peace, can tip our scales. Thanks for the post. love, Joyce

I get these from the back of my "body and soul'magazine.
  • So much wisdom in so few words.
    Especially # 10.
Conventional wisdom tells us to seek 'closure' and 'move on'. Bunk.
Don't ever close out your past. It is the key to who you are today and who you will become in the future. You don't have to continually morn it (if it has its sad elements, which is true for all of us), but you can certainly learn from it to the betterment of your present and future.
    Hugs and thanks, babs.

Yes I would say they sum up the journey which is totally part of our evolutional journey to being fully human. Don't forget we also have to learn to be our own best friends cause we tend to treat our best friends a whole lot better than we treat our own selves. Sharing has changed how I perceive myself let alone others.
    Thanks
