Another Dip In The Road :(

Hi to all my wonderful semi-colons-
I have not been on this site for quite some time. We are still right in the middle of moving, and don't have wireless yet, and because my mom is not doing very well. Five weeks ago, my mom started having some pain in her lower back that radiated through to the front. Over the last five weeks the pain has gotten worse and worse. A PET scan on June 15th has shown further spread. Several lymph nodes light up from her neck down to pelvic region. One group of lymph nodes(about 4) is in a muscle that attaches from her leg to her spine. She is in severe pain and on pain meds 24 hours a day. They have her on a long lasting one and a short lasting one, but nothing seems to be helping. She only gets up a couple hours a day and is having trouble with urinating, bowel movements, dehydration, and eatting. I think we might be in serious trouble. Doctors think they might be able to radiate the group that is causing so much pain, but we won't know until Thursday. If they refuse to do it here, our Dr. in Boulder said that he will do it, but that involves moving to Boulder for 4-6 weeks. Besides the 4 that are causing the pain, there are several more that are lighting up. I don't know what we are doing anymore. I am asking for prayers to help us get through this terrible time.
I am at my mom and dad's house now, and have been trying to read through all of the posts that I have missed in the last 2 months. I have not gotten through them all, but of course I am praying that all is going well.
God bless-

I am so sorry for everything you and your mom are going through right now. Hang in there. It is good that your Boulder doc will do if local docs will not. I had radiation earlier this year and did it out of town. I is sad to be away, but my symptoms dropped off so much after the treatment. Keep your eye on the goal, and just take it day by day.
Tell your mom she is in my thoughts and prayers. A friend put me on prayer lists around the world and told me just that knowledge helps.
God bless you. jana0 -
I am sending prayers, and hugs, and healing, calming vibes...
Oh, dearheart...pain is the worst advasary!!! My tumor pressed against the tailbone...no pain killer would work...
Is one of the elixirs Dilaudid, by any chance? This works a little different, not so much totally blocking the pain, just putting you in a different frame of mind to deal with it. A thought.

I'm so sorry for what all of you and your family are going through. I hope that the docs come up with a pain management plan that helps.
It doesn't help that the meds for pain are probably the part of the cause of her bowel problems. They can be so constipating!
My heart goes out to all of you!
Prayers coming your way from Vermont!

Valerie,
I too have missed you and have been wondering about you and your mom. I'm sorry to hear about your mom's tough time. It's rough to have to relocate, but Boulder is such a beautiful place, a true place for healing - mind, body and soul. I sincerely hope that you and your mom find them there.
My best thoughts and prayers are with you, your mom and your family.0 -
