I'm going to go to bed soon, and will be sure to send a prayer your way. I have a friend in my support group who has had many different chemo treatments over the eight years she's been at it, and God love her, she seems to be more happy and positive than any of the rest of us! Keep your chin up, kid-I can tell you've got a great attitude that will carry you along, too!0

Hi, Right now I'm on Gemzar and it's working for me. My last ca-125 was 17.9. I will be starting my 5th round this week upcoming. I have heard that Carbo, Taxol and Cisplantin can be added to the Gemzar if it doesn't work alone, so there's another choice that might help. Too bad the Doxil didn't help, I had 6 cycles and it gave me a 13 mnth remission. Which since 2004 is the longest remission for me. I'm praying that the Gemzar works for you, as it is really an easy chemo to tolerate..and that you get some kind of break here soon...(((hugz)))..Joanne0

Wow...I would have loved a 13 month remission! The longest I've had is about 4 1/2 months!...At this point I'll take anything! So far I seem to be tolerating the Genzar okay but I have only had 2 treatments. (I am doing three weeks on and one week off) This has got to be better than Doxil! The doxil did a number on my skin...especially my feet!....Keep those numbers going down Joanne!...and thanks again for the prayers!...Hugs!floridajo said:Hi, Right now I'm on Gemzar and it's working for me. I just finished my third treatment...started with taxol/carboplatin in April of 2005 and then did Doxil summer of 2006. It did a number on me as well...skin rashes, mouth sores, etc., plus my CA 125 started going up a month after finishing. I just finished doing a round of chemo using just carboplatin without the taxol. In just two treatments my CA 125 fell from 114 to 14 so I was able to stop after 4 treatments. Plus the side effects were minimal. I will have to wait to see how long my CA 125 stays down to see if it has long term effects. Hopefully, it will. I know it might not work for everyone, but you could ask your doctor about it.0

Add another prayer warrior from TX to your support group. I am
new and have only had three chemos and three to go before maybe I can have surgery. The experience of all of these ladies keep me
going from day to day. I'll be grateful for any remission at this point.0 -
I understand and you are in my prayers. I just had my third round of Doxil and so far side effects are minimal, I am hoping for that 13 month remission too. It does get old, I am having alot of swelling for some reason, but this weekend my family and I are heading for Indiana, I have 2 nieces graduating. I am excited to get away and be with family. Well take care and God Bless!0
