WOW!
Sorry I haven't been around - a lot of people are saying "Who the #$%^ are you?" - but things have been nuts around here - getting my house rented, going to schools prepping for my new assignment, putting out fires, tying up loose ends, and... (drum roll) getting hitched! Katie and I are going to tie the knot (a double-reefed overhand sheet-bend for the smart@$$es asking what kind of knot) in LA on May 6th. The "honeymoon" will consist of a tour of Motel 6s along I-40 as we drive from LA to Charleston, SC so i can report to my new ship. I hear Stacy is taking bets on whether or not we'll be divorced by the time we get to the east coast (12 hours a day for 3 days in a car together!?!?)
Anyway, wishing everyone well and keeping you all in my prayers.
Cheers

with a big big smile I say congratulations...as for the hoopla that I think I started...it is kinda like best friends getting pissy at each other...sometimes you just need to rant and vent and know that when it is all over...everyone still has your back...that is what this board is all about..right?
Love you and all the best.

Ahoy, Howard!HowardJ said:Well, shiver me timbers! (whatever that means!).
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Howard
Thanks. BTW, "shiver me timbers" is an old nautical phrase dating to a time when ships were made of wood and MEN were made of steel. When you hit something really hard - or get hit BY something really hard, it would cause the mast(s) to shake or "shiver". Hence, the phrase "shiver me timbers".
Yep, I'm a plethora of useless nautical trivia!
Cheers and thanks again!

Thanks so much for your good wishes! I wish we could invite everyone to the nuptuals, but we're going to keep it really small (because we're a couple of tight-wads!)
You guys are the best family anyone could ask for.
Cheers
