Thank you all for your warm thoughts and prayers. I am keeping busy, getting things settled, and replaying the fond memories of my daughter. When she was 'on', she was the kindest, most gentle person. I was not going to have any memorial, but then I realized I am not the only one who should be allowed to let go of their grief, so I will organize something for her friends and people she touched in her life.
This morning, I couldn't sleep, so was up doing more work, when I looked out and saw (much to my surprise!) it was SNOWING!!!! Steph and I used to play in the snow, so off I went outside in my robe and slippers (it IS So Calif, after all, and I was afraid it would melt if I got dressed). It was a grand experience, and I felt her right next to me.
Thank you again to all of you!
Hugs, Kathi

I haven't posted this in a while, but your story about the snow made it just that much more relevant (especially line 4):
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Steph is still with you - in your memories and everywhere you look; like in the Southern California snow.
Love,

Kathi, dear friend,
I haven't been online much lately (I went back to work) and missed your first post. Please know I'm here for you - call anytime, day or night, and it's a quick drive to RC if you need a shoulder or anything else. I'll be keeping you in my prayers. And big, big hugs to you everyday.
