Hi Everyone, I want to thank everyone for all their support over the last year. My dad passed away this morning at 12:55. I didnt make it there to be with him but I am at peace with that. The funny thing is my mom told him at 12:45 that I could not be there I was home taking care of the baby and he passed on at 12:55. I was sound asleep on the couch and at exactly 12:55 I woke up and went up stairs. I believe that he came to say goodbye and thats why I woke up at 12:55. I was so relieved when I got that call because I know he is finally at peace now and no more physical or mental pain. Thanks again for all your support throughout the months. Mindy

I completely believe that you did feel the presence of your father and that he woke you up. How comforting that is that you can carry that feeling with you as you walk through your grief of losing him.
My prayers are with your family.

I am sorry for your loss, but you are absolutely right that he is at peace now. I think it is wonderful that you were able to share a moment in his presence - what a beautiful thing.
You have been an amazing advocate and supporter of your dad throughout his battle. My hat's off to you and I am humbled by your courage, tenacity and strength.
I hope you don't move on from our little group - you have volumes of knowledge to share with others who are caring for sick parents and loved ones. They can learn so much from you and your experience.
Be well, Mindy. Take some time and rest now and heal your heart and your spirit. No doubt your dad will be right there with you, helping you through it all.
Peace.

Oh, my gentle lady!
Hugs are coming your way. I had a similar thing happen with my mother-in-law...came to say goodbye and not to worry about her.
Remember my saying 'He has just moved, from in front of your eyes, into your heart, where he will live forever'.
PLEASE stay with us...we need to keep up with family here!
BIG Hugs, Kathi0 -

Mindy, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing but glad you are at peace. Your Dad knew how devoted you were as a daughter and that he could leave this world even though you could not be there with him. You were there for him during his illness and that is what is important. I know everyone on this board would want to send love and support to your mother at this time.
Take care of yourself.

Dear Mindy,
I am so sorry but know that your Dad is at peace now and I am glad you can also have more peace. Wonderful that he "visited" you at his passing - I really believe that is what happened. He was letting you know what a wonderful daughter you are and how much he knows you cared for him.
We are never ready to lose a parent, but try to remember that he is at peace as you work though the grief.
And, I realize you may well want to keep a distance, but don't stop coming here just because you Dad has passed. We're still a great group and would love to hear how you are doing - and besides as long as Ying is posting, there's that Friday Giggle to look forward to!
You and your Mom and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care,
