Hi everyone,
I don't post too often, but read every day - I know there are alot of people out there like me that quietly read your posts. But I just have to tell you that you are what get me through this. My husband was diag Feb '05 with stage 4 mult liver mets and given about 3 months to live at the time. He is still here with a smile doing better than ever. Without the positive stories you guys post - I don't think I could have kept my chin up all these months. You are such a huge blessing to all of us who read your stories. I am only a caretaker - but you all inspire me to be so much more than I am! God Bless every one of you.
Never stop posting!! And remember you touch so many more peoples lives than you could every imagine. I have sent so many people to this website for encouragement. I just can't tell you how much you all mean to me and Byron.
We love you - God bless you.
Hilary

Hilary....can't stop me!
BUT I take great exception to your use of the word 'ONLY' when referring to being a caregiver!
YOU GUYS are the REAL heros....and have earned REAL wings!!!!! We fighters only have to focus on the fight, nothing around us matters...(BIG secret...we get to complain and get away with it...hehehehehee) But YOU GUYS....you have to stay positive, listen to all the news, good and bad, watch US struggle, and keep a positive face....
I've said it before, say it again...look behind you my dear, see that feather?...Thats from YOUR wings!
Hugs to you and Byron, Kathi0 -
Hello Hilary.
Speaking of INSPIRATION.!!
Hilary you just shared a wonderful Stage 4 Story with all of us .Know that you just lifted my spirts!!! for I am a stage 4 as well with muli liver mets . Diag in Nov 05 .
I don't really like the word "care taker" . its just not a Big enough word to describe what you all do for us .
You give us are our Strength !!!!!And Help us FIGHT !!You are our Healing Angels for sure...
TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS.
Thanks for making my day !!

You are not JUST a caretaker. A caretaker is a hero, a companion, a selfless giver, one who is always there when needed, regardless of their own needs..I have been both caretaker and patient, and I know it is much more difficult to be a caretaker-they suffer more than the patient. Bud0

Hi Hilary,
I just want to say that I agree with the others. I think the caregivers need a hug and a thank you too for all you do. Also keep us posted on how you and your husband is doing. We all like to hear good news. Give your hubby a big HUG from us and we are rooting for him. Take care.

Hilary,
I agree with the others that you are not "only" a caregiver. My heart breaks when I look at my husband's face and get a glimpse of the sadness he is experiencing while we deal with another bad cat scan report. He is my hero and keeps me going, but I know how hard it is for him. I'm sure your husband feels the same about you. Thank you for being there for him.

Hi Hillary -
You are playing such a great role in your husband's life and helping him so much. I am sorry you have to go thru this, but caregivers are our heros. Please be good to yourself.

Hilary....you might not have wings...you might not have a halo........but you sure sound like an "angel" to me. As for the description of being a carer....the word "only" is not in my vocabulary gal. AND....you do have the hardest road to travel!jenalynet said:Dear Hilary,
Bless you...Your post is an uplift for all Stage 4 fighters. Caregiving is not an easy thing, it takes love and compassion daily to get through..Take care, Audrey.
