Hi everyone. I just discovered this site and thought I'd join in. I was dx'd with stage 3c about 5 weeks ago. Had a very extensive surgery and have completed 1 taxol/carboplatin chemo cycle. I've had many complications since surgery, the main one not being able to eat or drink much on my own so I'm now getting total parenteral nutrition through my port. The problem isn't related to nausea, what happens is that I get filled up very quickly to the point of pain and distention after a very small amount of food. They have no explaination as to why this is happening, after a battery of tests but think it is related to my cancer. I've been in and out of the hospital 3 times in the last 2 weeks but am now home and am thankful for that much. I'm hoping to regain some strength before my next chemo which is in 10 days.

Just wanted to introduce myself and I hope to get to know many of you as we fight this disease together.

    Hi,
I too was just diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian, had a 5 hr surgery and have had 2 chemo treatments so far. My treatments are every 3 weeks and I have good days and bad days. I read somewhere about someone getting sich or nausea when they haven't had a bowel movement. I have found that to be a problem with my eating/appetite. Could that help with your problem? I don't know, just trying to be helpful.
So far the chemo is really doing the job on my CA-125. I will remember you in my prayers and keep us up on your progress. This really is a wonderful site!

You are in my thoughts and prayers, Christa. All of you are. I am at 6 months post-op. Never thought I would make it this far. Keep a positive attitude, which is very difficult at times and keep coming to this site. skyblue

    Christa,
I was diagnosed with Stage 3c ovarian on 7/1/05 and have had 2 chemo treatments. I also had extensive abdominal surgery. I am recovering from the surgery and feeling much better. The best advice I can give you is to drink lots of water and take stool softeners if you are having problems with constipation and abdominal bloating. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. If you need my help or support, please email me.
