Kerry, your sooooooooo right! I love that man (Bert) dearly. Always have (since I was 19), always will (hopefully many, many more years) and darn proud of it too and not ashamed one little bit to admit it.kerry said:Monika,
You and Bert are in my prayers! It always warms my heart to read your tender caring for Bert at this difficult time. Bless you and Bert and the loving relationship you two have. Hang in there.

Hi Monika and Bert,
Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you both. I know it's no fun, but hang tight. An infection sounds right. Bert was admitted for an infection before Christmas, right. And an infection does cause rises in CEA. Know that my fingers are crossed and I'm sending out some big hugs to you both.
Lots of love,

Monika, I have a team of suffocating specialists who won't let me breathe with all the test they do for the least little thing. I even had a bone scan because of some blood work they didn't like. Usually the shadows, blips, whatever disappear. Speculation runs to inflamation, fluid, blah, blah. Not to trivialize your concern about your husband but they could put your very own self under a microscope and find some anomalies. Everybody has them. Even the doctors.

I agree with the last posting. I guess part of getting through the disease is learning to cope with the terrible fear of recurrence. It is hard not to be a pessimist when you have already gone through surgery and treatment, but be thankful that the doctors are on top of things and are performing all of the appropriate follow-up tests.
Good luck !0
