Thickened endometrium & nervous

Well here I am playing the waiting game. Gyn said she would be on Thanksgiving vacation but to expect a call from her on Weds Nov 29. That didn’t happen. I called the clinic and was told my biopsy results are in but a medical provider has to review them and call me. The results do not show up on my health system app. So yesterday I left a message asking if any provider could call me my results. I was on pins and need yesterday because I expected a call all day. Now here I am going a little nuts. I feel like prob results are normal but my anxiety has me spiraling with worry. Dang it why can’t they call me?! It was a loooong wait. So frustrating. Do I just keep calling the clinic a d make a pest of myself? I know they are too busy to get to me. But I am seriously stressed out about it.
*Edited to add: Update- she called and said results are benign but if I have additional spotting I need to message her as it might be a polyp and would need to do a D&C. So relieved!!

What good news. So happy to hear this and thanks for sharing. It helps other women who come after you! By the way, I found an option on my electronic medical records that allowed me to see results before the physician did. I clicked it and now I can see them when they are put in the chart. See if you can find that on your chart.

Hi everyone. I’m back. I had some post menopausal bleeding twice last fall. Had an ultrasound and pipelle biopsy. The biopsy was negative. Had some more bleeding recently. Like a light period. So in 2 weeks I will have the D&C, hysteroscopy. My OB said it might be a polyp. I’m trying not to stress out this time! Last time I was a nervous wreck and the wait was so long. Luckily I am scheduled in 2 weeks to get it done. It’s hard not to worry about it. My mind always goes to the worst case scenarios. Hopefully it’s not going to be that. Is it normal to wait 2 weeks after the procedure to get results? Or do they sometimes have news right after the procedure? Not sure what to expect. Thanks everyone!

hey Fitmom, glad to hear your gyn is going to do a D&C. As others have said before, and I would agree, it really is the gold standard to find out what is going on in there.
I can't comment on how long you have to wait. "It depends" is the best I could tell you. Waiting is the worst part on anything.

Thank you NoTimeForCancer. I have a preop appointment next week. I will ask then. Appreciate your reply. I always get a bit nervous when things come up like this. lol. Pretty much a normal response. There’s nothing for it until I get the results I guess. Wishing you well.

Fitmom, it makes PERFECT sense that you would be anxious. I think it is probably commom for most people (I won't say"everyone" - ever) so be sure to let us know how this goes. Hoping it is nothing but know that we are always here for you.

Hi- I’m just checking in.I did much better this time I regard to not getting too anxious about the wait.I had the hysteroscopy today with D&C. Doctor removed a large polyp and a smaller one, which is likely what caused bleeding. Doctor said it didn’t look vascular,so I take it that mean not obviously visually concerning for cancer. But now I will wait for pathology. I’m so glad to have got it done and to have the polyp removed. Everyone was really nice at the surgery center. Hoping for the best with pathology. Thanks for the support. It’s hard to wait on results as I sometimes get anxious about worst case scenarios. I’m trying to just keep busy and not worry too much. Appreciate the support and wisdom here from you survivors. Thank you!

One thing you could consider talking to your gynecologist about is a hysterectomy. Then you wouldn't have to worry about future possibilities. Good luck on your pathology report!
