Comparing CT Scans

I have breathing issues. I had a CT with the VA 10 weeks ago. They found a 5cm opacity, a 9.2mm nodule and several other sub 5mm nodules. I was concerned about the 5 cm opacity. And, assumed the worst, which is why I'm posting in Lung Cancer.

Three weeks later I had another CT with a private pulmonologist. No mention of the 5cm opacity, the 9.2mm nodule much less the other sub 5 mm nodules.

Obviously different scanning units, different locations and different doctors, but is this even possible?

Ended up answering my own question. The 5cm opacity was a typo and an error. A Pulmonologist actually took the time to show me several "slides" of my CT where he suspects the original reader of the CT made the mis-identification. It was a 5.7 MM probable asbestos related nodule! I need a drink.
