I was just diagnosed with
I was just diagnosed with appendeceal cancer which was undetected. They thought it was ovarian cancer but it started in the appendix and spread to the ovaries. It was removed and now they are talking about another surgery called HIPEC. All pathology reports showed no malignacies but they want to be sure there are no cells left behind.

I was treated last year for stage 4, high grade appendix cancer that metastasized to the peritoneum & diaphragm. There is a private Facebook group and non-profit group dedicated to us appendix cancer warriors. Links below:

Lovely-63 I was sick for 2 years and 2 months before getting my diagnosis of appendiceal cancer psuedomyoxoma peritonei. I underwent a laparoscopy with the ob/gyn dead Set on I had endometriosis. They called a 3rd surgeon into operating room as something looked off with my appendix. That was October 15, 2019.since then I've had 3 additional surgeries, 2 of them HIPEC was used. Hipec stands for heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy. The chemo was put into my abdomen during surgery. Then I was rocked for 90 minutes to make the chemo spread through my abdomen. I will be undergoing lots of abdominal surgeries as I've been told that is the only treatment. It is impossible for surgeons to remove every cancer cell in my abdomen. I deal with chronic daily nausea and vomiting. I deal with chronic abdominal pain from all the surgeries.
If they use Hipec prepare yourself mentally. I had no time to prepare myself and it was bad. I had 3 weeks between my first two surgeries and 2 weeks between the other two. At one point the hipec caused me to hallucinate. Got creeped out.
Make sure you see a specialist for the appendix cancer. Acpmp website has a list of states with providers. Make sure you ask questions. Make sure you understand what providers are saying to you.
