4 years next month NED and now....
Had my annual CT right after Thanksgiving. Stage 1, Grade 2 measured at 2 cm. Di Vinci Right Kidney CCRCC. Still NED thankfully, BUT they found a highly suspicious and pretty much unviewable lesion in my liver right under my rib cage in a very difficult place. Ultrasound couldn't get to it and subsequent MRI Oncologist ordered can't adequately determine that it is cancer or benign. Alpha Fetoprotein Tumor Marker is rated to be normal <6.1. I am 7.6. Oncologist basically laughed me out of the office when I consulted her about recurrence 4 years ago. Have had about 3 different scares that she also very quickly brushed off. This time, she is more than very concerned. I see her Jan 14th to discuss MRI and AFP. Has anyone here had Mets to the liver? Looking for some hope.

No, mine keep popping up in my kidneys. Have you thought about getting a second opinion if you don't get the answers you need or maybe just a fresh set of eyes to look at everything?

Nanaof10 - I was also Stage 1, grade 2. On a routine follow-up scan, they found a small mass on my liver. My doctors were concerned as well but told me it was unlikely it was a metastasis. After an MRI, they confirmed it was a benign liver mass, which are very common. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for asking. She was still unsure and sent me to a Cancer Liver specialist. He also isn't sure. Gave me 50/50 odds of it either being benign or Liver Cancer, not mets. Ordered an MRI MRCP for mid-April along with another Alpha Fetoprotein Tumor Marker blood test. He presented my case to the Tumor Board and they all agreed with the 'Wait and Watch' treatment plan. Went thru that for 9 months before they determined and removed my kidney cancer. Just keep testing every 3 months until it can be determined what is going on. Moving on to liver cancer board since this isn't Mets.
