Thank you!
My 70th birthday is October 12th and my husband and I will have our 51st wedding anniversary on Oct 16th. Last year we didn't know for awhile if i would be here. We all thought I was dying, then my oncologist took me off the meds I was on because they were so toxic to my system. We are grateful for another year! Our kids will be here the 13th, so we will celebrate then. The youngest 3 are girls, 6, 8, and 10! So always fun!

Happy birthday and anniversary to you Donna, 70 is a milestone birthday for sure. I celebrated 70 in June and we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in 2024. May you celebrate many more birthdays and anniversaries. Put on your dancing shoes, even if they are in pair of sneakers.

Donna,
Enjoy your October BD and anniversary!
I saw you traveled to St. Louis for treatment. I live in St. Louis.
You know a nice Italian dinner on The Hill or just Imo's pizza at home is a great way to celebrate you are indeed still here with us. ((Hugs))

Happy Birthday Donna!
I''ll be 66 on the 18th. I'm grateful we are both here to celebrate another year. I do hope you get some pain relief right away. It's so difficult to enjoy yourself when you are in pain. I recovered from the immunotherapy trial I was on (it almost killed me) and will have a 3 month check up with my oncologist this month. Fingers crossed nothing has grown.

You always fascinate me because of the name Quilter 1. I love to make quilts and find it is the one place I can really be creative. I did just finish a quilt for the youngest, 6 yo granddaughter. But it took much longer and a few redos as my brain doesn't function well. I hope you are able to quilt!

Thank you everyone!
l did get some pain pills; that and Tylenol helps. (It does cause issues, though.) My husband and I have been so blessed to see the many places we've seen and to have the wooded land we have with a river. Writing it down does help me remember how blessed we really are!
Jan, I do hope you have a wonderful birthday!Happy Birthday to all our October birthdays. This is a great idea, harmonygroves!

I read your story for the first time and your experience with recurring tumors struck home. Happy birthday and praying for "all's clear".

October 1st
I had my 61st on 1 Oct. My Mom came to Utah and we went to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City, Red Iguana. A few days earlier I had my first of the double doses of dostarlimab at a 6-week interval. A week later nothing to report. My oncologist seems happy--says all my numbers are good and I don't have any increase in physical symptoms. I am having significant pain in my upper left chest and back and down my arm. Doctor thinks it's a larger tumor up against the chest wall that may be pressing on a nerve. So I'm off to visit the RO to discuss radiation to shrink it and reduce the pain.
Best news is I got a new stent that is so much more comfortable although I still can't really run with it. However the incontinence is much less as is the constant irritation. I visited the urologist to discuss surgery and he is more concerned about my apparent very atrophied left kidney and wants to do a renal scan before discussing options. Seems ureter resections can get very complex while removing a kidney, not so much. Strange thought.
But mostly good at this point and hoping the same to all my October birthday sisters!

Wow, there are three of us that quilt. I started making quilts a couple years ago. I purchased a babylock and I have a brother which was way cheaper. The funny thing is I like using the smaller, cheaper Brother. The brother is my machine of choice when taking it to classes and smaller projects. I don't make large quilts, at least not yet. I like making smaller quilts especially decorative quilts to hang on the wall. Also, quilt table runners, purses, etc. I've been busy doing that for the holidays the past three weeks so I haven't been on here. quilting is a great way to reduce stress. Now doing that binding is stressful, I HATE sewing the binding, absolutely hate it. Quilting is fun until it's time to do that, lol.

Here is another semi-quilter. Haven't done it in a long time now due to a pinched nerve in my neck and then some trigger finger issues. May try to start up again but just too busy right now - although I have an unfinished one I should start on. Like you, Spydergal, the binding is not my favorite part, but you can't exactly do it first to get it out of the way!
