Erbitux + new bone mets

Hi there,
I am 5+ months post chemorradiation for NPC (nasopharyngeal carcioma). I just had a PET-CT b/c of persistent pain and numbness in my hip / leg. Turns out that I have a whole slew of new mets that now need to be treated. They are putting me on weekly Carbo, Taxol and Erbitux.

A couple questions:

1) has anyone on Erbitux found a way to minimize the rash? I was on it during chemoradiation and it was horrible. So painful and also so ugly. I tried doxy and a topical steroid, but neither worked for me.

2) has anyone had mets activate after their primary tumor disappeared? how did you treat this? I wish I had a better understanding of metastasis.

Thank you for your advice!

    Hello  tk,

    Hello  tk,

Please give an Update, on your HNSCC Mets.. How are you now and what treatment course has been chosen for you this time??  I am worried when I hear this.... I have a friend whom is Stage IV, with BOT which metastasized to his Liver, hip bone, spine, and gall bladder .  He has been on chemo for Years ...

Feel free to private message me. I am Stage III.  Currently battling Aspiration pneumonia again ( #6) and may be admitted, when I see Pulmonary...

Anyway, this is about You, so please let me know your next steps.

    Erbitux

    Hi TK

My husband Steve is on erbitux and I bought him aveno body wash and jergens healing lotion. I also bought him baby wash cloths to use and he takes benadryl. He has been on it for three months and goes in next week for pet scan.Good luck on your treatment.
