    Cervical Cancer

Hello, I have Just joined and seen your post about anyone having cervical cancer... I am stage 4, Metastasized to my lungs and some lymph nodes... long long story from the beginning in 2018 when I was diagnosed. I've had ALOT of chemo, radiation, radical hysterectomy, surgeries & procedures since 2018... I am still battling due to having 7 total tumors left in my lungs. I am not giving up!!! I'm going to keep believing I will be cancer free one day & I have ALOT of faith that God will heal me in time. I'm not sure why I am on this journey but my goal is to help others stay positive, be encouraged & never feel alone out there!!! I'm willing to talk, chat or email/text message .... anything to help!!! It can feel very lonely out there when nobody can truly understand what it is we go through! So please if your still active on here contact me! My email is Keisha.sims69@gmail.com

i am willing to be your friend & we can get through this together!!! Be blessed! ❤️

Kgsims, it can be a little

Kgsims, it can be a little quite on the CSN boards for cervial.  There are some other active boards - you may have already found them - but on eis NCCC - National Cervial Cancer Coalition

    https://www.inspire.com/groups/national-cervical-cancer-coalition/

It helps to talk with others who are going through something similar and can help you with the things they are experience.  God bless warrior!

my mom's been diagnosed with cervical cancer recently

hi everyone, i hope you all can get through this, may god grant your wishes to be free from cancer.
i just joined today, wishing everyone still active today.

so my mom is been diagnosed with stage 1B cervical cancer, and the gyn oncologist has performed radical hysterectomy. now we are waiting for the pathology anatomy test for tissue and lymph nodes that had been removed by the hysterectomy procedure. we put a big hope that it will be free from cancer and my mom will not undergo adjuvant therapy like chemo and radiation.

the main problem right now is that my mom's mental health , i'm afraid that she's not welll prepared to accept this morover if she should undergo adjuvant therapy.

i wish everyone here can help to tell my mom that chemo and radiation is not as bad as she thinks it is and that she can get through this hard time.

    long live cancer survivor!

    Not so bad

I imagine you have received your mothers path reports. Hopefully they were good and your mom doesn't need further treatment. However, if she does need treatment, she should be able to get needed support and encouragement from her care team.

HI! I was diagnosed 1B1 as

HI! I was diagnosed 1B1 as well and had chemo, internal & external radiation & eventually a hysterectomy in 2016. Ive had lower back pain off and on since. The radiation (I think the direct treatments) damaged my bladder, ureters & bwoel and I now have a colostomy and urostomy. I don't say that to scare you but i do wish I would have known that it was possible when I first started to have symptoms. I;ve had several surgeries and that could be the cause as well. Honestly I just think pelvic radiation is just so tough on your body...

cervical cancer late term side affect going on 7 years now.

I was treated for cervical cancer in 2012.  30 rounds of external radiation, 2 rounds of the brachiatherapy which is the internal radiation that is left inside of you for 40 straight hours each time and scheduled two weeks apart, and 5 rounds of cisplatin chemo.  As i write this June 4, 2021 I am sitting in a wheelchair recovering from a 4th hip surgery (revision this time and last resort) I have had two bladder surgeries due to damage from the radiation as well.  The pelvic radiation exposes all vital organs to the poison that is put into our bodies.  I have not had a quality of life since 2014 when I began to experience right hip pain and was told for 9 months that this was no way caused by the radiation treatment. I repeatedly asked my oncologist if this pain was from the radiation and was told no.  I have leaned on God which is the only way that I have been able to not give up.  I have walked with a walker, cane, or crutches since 2015 and have had many surgeries due to radiation damage to my body.  I do not want to come off as being ungrateful to be cancer free, but I am angry that the only source of treatment that health insurance companies approve is this poison.  My quality of life has been changed drastically in the last 7 years not to mention the pain level that I have experienced as well.  I welcome anyone to please share with me their experiences from pelvic radiation treatment for cervical cancer.  Unless a person has experience cancer they cannot fully grasp that a person does not go back to the life they had before cancer.  My life has not been the same on any level and I know it will never be.  Thank you all for hearing my heart.

Hello dear warriors.  I just wanted to pass along a recent this news. The anti–PD-1 antibody is being assessed as therapy for patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer after positive results indicate improved responses with the monotherapy.

    mom diagnosed

I am praying that your mom has received good news and has not needed further treatment.  Radiation and chemo are different for each individual.  I personally was very sick from these treatments so I would not feel comfortable saying the opposite.  I am a cancer survivor but my treatment was very difficult.  Family support is very key to a loved one walking out the diagnosis and treatment.  Let them feel the way they feel and let them know you are there no matter what.  My family's support and leaning on God was how I made it through the very difficult treatment. Respectfully, Alyvia0575
