NED again but...
Hi everybody. I just had follow up CT Scan last week and doctor appointment today. Good news NED for kidney cancer, but there is 1.4 cm mass on my pancreas. Just wanting some good vubes and prayers. Will have biopsy and then we'll see. I so appreciate all of the help and support from the members on this board. Thanks.

Well, you're right not sureBiner said:but if you have another tumor
but if you have another tumor they call it ned?
Well, you're right not sure if it is truly NED until I have the biopsy. Best case scenario it is a benign tumor not related to any of my previous cancers. Mid case scenario it could be metastisized from the previous breast cancer or kidney cancer. My doctor tells me that it is very rare for kidney cancer to spread to the pancreas. Worst case scenario it could be pancreatic cancer. Just have to wait and see, right? My hopes and prayers are for a benign tumor.

Good Morning!
Sorry to hear about your 'mixed report'. You are correct, it will take a biopsy to determine exactly what you are dealing with. However, I would share that my husband had a very large RCC met on his pancreas. He, too, went through a biopsy to determine if it was pancreatic cancer or metastatic kidney cancer. As I said, it was kidney cancer. IF that is what you have, I would offer this word of encouragement...pancreatic mets tend to be more indolent/less aggressive and respond to meds. Hubby has been on Sutent and it has resulted in shrinkage to the point of not even being mentioned on his scans any more! Benign would, for sure, be better, but don't give up hope!!

For your input, I appreciate it. How long was it between his kidney cancer treatment and the appearance of the mets on the pancreas?

I just read the history I see it was a good 8 years. Thanks again and God bless you both on your journey.

Keeping fingers crossed for you! When do you have a biopsy?
I'm still waiting for a referral to a gastroentologist. I hope it can be done soon...

Good luck with biopsy and
Good luck with biopsy and keep us posted!
Of course hoping that it is a benign lesion. But, if not benign - it with much more probability could be RCC met, NOT pancreatic cancer! There are people on these boards with pancreatic mets.
ANd there are lots of benign pancreatic tumors as well. I know it all won't calm you down, but possibility of the worst case scenario is very low...
Hugs,
Alla
