    Sorry I haven't responded lately.  Am back to work and tired when I get home.  Had my second round of chemo 2 down 2 to go.  This time around was good for the following 3 days then tues. not good. Home today relaxing.  Glad I get the 21 days reprive before next treaments.  Lets me get somewhat back to normal befor feeling crapy again.  Hopefully this is gonna be the all of it.

    Got you in my prayers stay strong you got this. I am doing good pain has almost gone. Depression has been trying to mess with me other then that I am good. You take care and RELAX and tkae care of you. I agree with you and pray that you or done with all this very soon.

    Lobectomy,Right Upper Lung

    Hi Ladies, I am 3 weeks out from my surgery. You are right Karen, the recovery on this is painful. I was in the hospital for 8 days because I had what they called a leak in my lung. I thought I would never get home. Then when I did I wasn't sure I should be home yet. Did you have shortness of breath? Man I did, I still do, but it's getting better now. Not off the pain killers yet, but taking them further apart when I can. Still have to sleep propped up Did you? This pain lasting so long has really thrown me for a loop. Depression and anxiety taking a toll on me. Planning on seeing a counselor soon to handle it better. I am 65, in good health and smoked for 50 years. I am doing my very best to quit. I will get it done. I start Chantix tomorrow. I tried it before and had no side effects at all. I also have a vape to help. I have cut down on my own, but I need help to beat this. 50 years is a long time to have a habit.

    My cancer was stage1 and caught quite by accident with a routine physical. Doctor sent me for low dose scan because of my history of smoking. I had no symptoms. I am very very blessed it was found at all. Nothing in my lymph nodes. I go on the 24th to another doctor to see if any more follow up is needed. My surgeon doesn't think so, but who knows, maybe as a precaution.

    My Doctors tell me I am doing well Pain is just focused in one spot now, under my right breast. I have started walking what my body will allow. It's not a lot yet, but it's a start. I don't feel like I'm doing so well, mostly mentally and emotionally. Never been through anything this tough!!! Been through some surgeries, but none like this. I would never do it again, no matter what the circumstances. I'm sure soon I will turn a corner!! Doc says maybe my pain has lasted this long is because of my size. I'm 5'1 and 103 pounds. I don't know, but it made me feel better. He put me on gabapentin today with my pain meds. He thinks that will really help.

    Vaping

    Hope you or doing better. I am 68 smoked for 47 yrs. quit July 1st 2018.Had my surgery on May 10th mine also was stage 1.  I also have been in good health. I do not take any kind of medication. My question for you is about vaping,or you doing this now after your surgery? I have been wanting to smoke so bad craving is horrible, I have started to vape I just don't know how safe it is.Everyone says NO. I also have said I would not do this again. I am 5ft. and 170lbs.my pain is gone.I have been doing really good  just taking it one day at a time.You take care stay strong,you do sound like a strong women.We got this.

    My husband's oncologist had zero concerns with vaping. I am from Canada and our federal government released this - yes it is still on the cautious side but still vaping is not smoking, it is not the inhaling of burning materials along with hundreds of nasty chemicals. My husband and I have vaped for 10 years now. I have vaped 9 of those years without nicotine. I just slowly dropped the nic until i didn't use any.

    Glad your starting to feel

    Glad your starting to feel better.  Still have the dscomfort under the breast and on side.  Will you be going thru any type of treatments?  Just had my 3rd of 4 treatment chemo.  1 more to go.  The treatment itself is not too bad but the week after the treatment it knocks me for a loop.  Really messes with my stomach and the fatigue. But that gets better then I have the 21 days in between.  Hoping now after my last treatment I will be all cleared of this mess and can put this behind me and move on.  Good luck Robin and take care of yourself and rest when your body says REST.

    Thank you for your comment on vaping. I did start vaping and it seems to have ok took the edge off of wanting to smoke. I am doing really good I have been able to do yard work back to driving and going to store. I am not short on air and breathing is good. You and your husband have a great week end. I wish mine was still here with me.

    I am sorry your  beloved husband is not there by your side but I am sure he watches over you. Still you are not alone here. Please join us in the chat room some night ok? We are all family there.

    I am glad the vaping is working for you. I found i had to find the right flavour that did the trick for me. Turns out it was cinnamon. It feels like a hit a the back of the throat, you know what I mean? However the flavour is too strong for hubby.

    Tomorrow is Canada Day, Happy Birthday to us and Happy birthday to you guys on the 4th.

    Well hereI'm thinking I'm all clear. Then I get another Petscan an find out the cancer is now in my liver, my other lung and my sturnum. Stage 4 HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN!!  In the course of only 6 months.  Has anybody ever heard or experienceed this.  Going thru strong chemo along with immunitherapy.  Really super scared this time and feeling pretty sick now after treatments.  Any advise?

    I see no one has responed to you and I became a member so that I could.

    I have done a lot of searching on the net and it seems that what has happened to you is not uncommon.

    If you want to understand more, I invite you to google Dr. William Li and the word cancer.

    "Can we eat to starve cancer? April 8, 2014".  This is his first introduction to Angiogenisis, it is only 20 minutes long and gives you a very good idea of his appeoach to all kinds of cancers.

    He has a few youtube videos over the years and is quite up to date but I recommemd this one first.  There is hope for you.

    Thank you John.   Just got back from getting results of CT Results not good.  Chemo treatments are not doing anything, and the cancer is worse now.  Feeling hopeless.  Of course Dr. Says there are all different kinds of treatments and we will have to change it up.  HOW DO WE KNOW WHATS GOING TO WORK. This is not a trial and error game we are playing here.  Anybody out there have any encouraging comments for me.  Really need that right now.

    I had chemo and radiation before lobectomy a year ago. The treatments reduced the size of the tumor which made it easier to completely remove. I Had my upper lobe completely removed and part of my middle lobe removed. After 8 days post surgery I could not do what you are doing now which is even sit at a computer. I ws in the hospital for a month total due to complications so my whole body was very weak.

     

    Hang in there. You will feel better every day. It takes a long time....

    I'll be going through this in the next couple of weeks. I'm sorry you're still in so much pain. This is one of the issues I'm most anxious about. Can I ask if you had yours done as an open lobectomy or was it VATS?
