She fought so hard, and was
She fought so hard, and was so open about everything she was going through, in her daily life, with her treatments. Her honesty and vulnerability, let you feel as close as any can on a blog like this. I wish you peace Jan.........................................................Dave

Can you share what happened?
Can you share what happened? I thought she was at a good point. On a break from chemo, and enjoying that. We private chatted a bit because I asked her about the drug she was on because was similar to mine. I am just so very sad. Does she get to be at home to say goodby to her beloved horse? Thank goodness I am working from home as this brings tears to my eyes.

Our forum firend Lily Flower alerted me to a post from Jan's daughter on Facebook this morning. I do not have a detailed report, only that her decline was sudden, as she was doing quite well for a while.
As you may remember, she took a trip to the Grand Canyon in April, and was feeling relatively good. I am so glad she took that trip.
She is unconcious at this time, and thus no longer responding to her family. Her daughter siad that she believe Jan can still hear what is said to her, and I bet that is true. I asked her daughter to whisper in her ear that we all love her, though in her own twilight world, I am sure she knows.

Thank you. We chatted towards the end of July, and she was full of optimism. So weird to survive this long, then to go suddenly.

Thoughts from Jan's daughter
I have been in touch with Jan's daughter. she asked me to pass on this message.
Tell the others on the forum not to let this break anyone's hope, this is simply a matter of bad luck with all other things that ended up going on in conjunction with the cancer that prevented her from finishing treatment.
And Jan is at home, which makes me happy to know.

Best wishes
I am an atheist, so I do not offer prayers, but JanJan has my best wishes for a peaceful passing. I am so glad she took the trip to Grand Canyon and had a good time there with her daughter. Cancer makes us each face, both rationally and emotionally, that life is finite. But that does not make the passing of a friend any easier. Thanks for letting us know, Tru.

Such Sad News..
Jan was one of the very first people to welcome me to this forum and the first to send me a private message, my memories of her are sweet and clear. She often said/wrote that she was happy in knowing she would never grow old and end up "parked in a wheelchair at some facility" nor would she be an ongoing burden to her family.
I admired her insight and the love and support she was always happy to share - I wish her and her family peace, peace and love - always love.0
