Results not favourable

Sceduled appointements with my Onc and Rad Onc, and my results were not favourable.  Back to the big city next week for scans.

I find it interesting that, no matter how many times you play games in your head, imagining what your reaction will be if the Doctor has bad news, that nothing, absolutely nothing, prepares you for it. Still like someone hit you hard in the gut.

Hoping for good scans, if not, onward and upward.

Tru

    What us not favorable?

What us not favorable? Bloodwork? Scanxiety is stressful. Praying you get good results.

    Yes, the good old CEA

    starting to go up.

CEA has always been a good indicator for me.

Right now it has not jumped, just risen, so maybe just a glitch. Hopefully just a glitch. My last episdoe, it jumped and jumped again, so maybe this is nothing. Hopefully this is nothing.

    Thank you for your prayers.

This forum is wonderful! With all of the problems we each experience, we are always there to help and encourage others; and my oh my, how that encouragement helps.

    Praying for good results

I sometimes wish we could command on one click our brains or something like a chip that whenever we tell our minds not to think about it, we really don't think about it but the truth is no matter how we tell ourselves not to get worried, we really do.  So I just hope for good scans and hopefully this is just nothing (probably just some other factors affecting CEA).  I see you as one of the invincibles here, something tells me this is nothing.

    Sorry

Sorry you didn't get better news and it is just a lab error.  Praying for good scan outcome.  It's so hard waiting.  You've been through a lot and wishing the best.

    Damn scanxiety time again.

Damn scanxiety time again. Sorry Tru, rising numbers don't tell the story, but that moment you hear would rattle anyone's cage. I hope it's "other than", but either way, that you get back to the feisty, but serene presence of nedness here on the blog.........................................Dave

Tru - So stressful to get the CEA feedback and now wait for the scan and results.

    Praying for you Tru!

I am so sorry to hear about the CEA going up, I sure hope and pray that you don't have an actual tumor or recurrence.  My cousin was cured of prostrate cancer 5 years ago and his markers went up on his last visit but the scans did not pick up any tumors.

Praying you don't have a recurrence!

    Sending positive thoughts

Sending positive thoughts your way. Hope it's something simple like an undetectable infection and it returns to normal.

    Hopefully unrelated to cancer

Hopefully unrelated to cancer as there’s other stuff that can cause it to rise as it did for me.

    Ah Cr@P

I bopped by and saw a post where someone could not spell favorable properly ;)  Sorry, had to joke a little, but when I saw the spelling I knew before even before noticing the name.

I am so sorry to see this news Tru.  But all my thoughts are with you that it is just a glitch and you get good news quickly.

So sorry to hear. Don't give up

Sorry to hear your tests are coming back not what you hoped. Don't give up! I just went through a similar scare and after just about every test imaginable came back clear. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming so hold on. I know it is hard when we have done this so many times. I am very much a planner and analyze everything to death. I think it helps to have a plan A, B and even C but it can also really mess with your head. Try to remember to breathe. My prayers will be with you. Sending positive thoughts.
