Immunotherapy Starts Tomorrow
Tomorrow I get my first infusion of Yervoy & Opdivo. I am excited to get started and of course nervous about how I will respond. I am ready to start fighting back against this nasty cancer. I can't wait for my immune system to kick in and start kicking some cancer **** . One day at a time and tomorrow is a BIG day.

Good luck to you Mark. The
Good luck to you Mark. The verse below is written on the wall at the Crossfit Box I go to. I look at it daily and think of the many ways that it applies to many facets of life. Go kick **** my friend.
That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I'm glad you are feeling well so far. I start my treatment next Thursday. Cabo + Keytruda (immunotherapy). Drug trial. I'm more nervous about the SE for the Cabo. I hope Mark is doing Ok and checks in.

One done ... so far so good
Good Morning! Well my first infusion is done and I'm feeling great. No SEs yet except a little fatigued but hard to say if that is from the threapy or maybe I am just exhausted after going to 15 appointments at Mayo since 5/29. I am also on daily Lovenox shots to treat my blood clots - that is fun. Thank you for all the prayers and support - you all are the best! My next treatment is July 5th and my hope is to stay out of the hospital until then ... that would be a wonderful break . Everyday I pray for strength, peace and healing for everyone suffering from this horrible disease. I am going to keep fighting on until I beat this thing.

So far so good. No SEs ... would love to keep it like that but if they happen I will deal with them. Are you also on Opdio & Yervoy? As fas as life expectancy - I was given a year but I'm not going to let that get in the way of my fight against this cancer. There have been signifcant advances in therapy options for Stage IV RCC in the last year so the data that they base outcomes is out-of-date. I hope that you continue to feel good and that you avoid any SEs. Good luck on your fight ... we got this!!
