Hello and welcome Dave! YouDave S said:Post no. 2
Just my 2nd post. I read some old posts about people on sunitinib (Sutent) as I am who last there sense of taste or had bad taste after taking Sutent. My taste has mostly disappeared and it makes eating almost a chore. I'm starting to lose weight because of it and I'm not a big person. One post talked about using L glutamine to get your sense of taste back , possibly in as little as 3 days. I have been taking it for 10days with no effect. I was wondering about the dosage, I followed the instructions on the bottle of 5 grams a day. Wondering if anyone has tried this or is aware of a different dosage?
Hello and welcome Dave! You are posing an important question. So I would recommend you start a new post for more to answer your question about Sutent. Also, don't forget to go to SmartPatients.com too.
Hugs, Jan

My 3 year was in December....Congrats on yours! My oncologist said that a 3 years NED is a biggie for much lower chance of recurrence!

Jojo, im sorry i missed this during my hiatus and didnt reply but 3 years is huge!
The experts that I spoke to told me that 3 years is the new window or time frame that most of the stats are tied to. He said if we could make through three years that the odds of reccurrance drop significantly. Congrats!!!

Congrats on 5 years.
It is a milestone and any reason to celebrate is a good reason.
What's with the badmouthing our Oregon Rain and Wind and Snow. At least the snowpack is looking good for summer, except for the Wallowas.
I used to be able to say no Hurricanes, Tornados, etc., but we've had some really nasty wind storms this winter.
Good Luck,

Almost at 6 years
August 10th 2017 will be 6 years since my nephrectomy. Glad to see more and more people pushing the envelope.

So happy to hear good news....it lifts all our spirits and continues to give us all hope.....btw... My surgery is 1 week from today
PS.....does everyone go on a certain drug afterwards?
Greg,
You asked a question about drugs afterwards. If it is a smaller tumer the surgery alone is often enough. You have not posted anything in your bio about your tumor etc. or with your question so it is a little hard to suggest where you may be on your journey in a vacum. Please start a new forum post with your details so we can help you move forward.
