Has anybody heard from brissance (Patty)?
I haven't seen anything from Patty since November 9th here and on Facebook since November 10th. She had been hospitalized but then seemed to be doing better. Patty, if you can see this, just give a thumbs up!! I'm worried about you!!
Love,
Eldri

Thank you!
Thanks Eldri, I've been wanting to ask about Patti for days now, but didn't want to be pushy about it if she doesn't have the energy to keep us posted. I think about her (but not just her!) every day! If you see this Patti, you have a lot of people here who care and are praying for you. I'd love to hear how things are going for Becca and Chris, too, but feel free to maintain your privacy if you need that. Just know that I'm hoping all is well with what you're dealing with, too.

Hi, guys...
I've been in and out of town and now I've got a substantial amount of work, so I haven't been on here too much.
I did manage to squeeze in a couple of phone appointments with my gyn/onc and my medical oncologist last week. The upshot is, for right now, we are watching and waiting. My gyn/onc offered three scenarios: chemo and rads, chemo only, and monitoring for 3 months and then do another scan, unless I develop symptoms sooner. He said monitoring was a reasonable option given that no one is willing to say what appeared on the scan is a recurrence. I'm just not willing to subject my body to the rigors of either taxotere/gemzar or, more likely, doxil/avastin, which is what my medical onc thought we should do, without knowing for sure. However, like daylady's doc, she gave me the 20% response rate statistics. I know how we all feel about statistics, but for the moment, I'm going to let that lie. My gyn/onc was very much in favor of me working with my naturopath and in his words, "researching and investigating whatever else might be out there."
I have consulted with my naturopath and we are being more aggressive, adding more medicinal mushrooms to my supplements, and changing up some other things. I also did a nutrient panel which will be helpful when I get the results back. So I'm going to enjoy the rest of the year and the holidays, and be fired up and ready to deal with whatever the new year may bring.
I too, have missed Patti's posts, and I hope that she is just resting and recovering.

That is a great update - working steady and a plan for moving forward with your naturopath and your onc agreeing- all sounds positive! I am doing the medicinal mushrooms in both tincture and caps. Are you doing Pectasol? That is supposed to stop mets. ((HUGS))

Good to hear
That sounds like a good plan when there's still uncertainty about whether or not what you have is recurrance. So glad you'll be able to enjoy the holidays, but sure wish you didn't have any of this hanging over your head. Happy Turkey Day everyone!

Chris, Thanks for updating us
Chris, Thanks for updating us. I'm glad you decided to go the watch approach since they don't know if you have mets or not. My sister had pancreatic cancer and they removed almost half of her pancreas. She has a cyst on the other part that they have been watching for 2 years now. She gets MRIs every 3 months. So far, so good - no growth and no cancer. I'm hopeful that yours ends up doing the same darn thing! Enjoy your holidays and I know you are going to approach this next year with loads of strength.
Love and Hugs,
Cindi

I'm glad to hear from you too
I'm glad to hear from you too, Chris. I like this plan. Why subject your body to those horrible chemo drugs when you don't even know what's going on? Have a great Thanksgiving!
Love,
Eldri

So glad to hear from you. I am happy you now have a plan, sounds like a good idea to me. I have an elderly freind at church who has two small tumors in her breast that they are waiting and seeing,on. And the last CT scan she, had, show, that they were smaller. No,treatment for her and it is just fine. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving
Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann
