update janae
So it my day after chemo. Ive been fine. I ussually am on this day. I guess what i really want to say is my update on my joint pain. In another thread i mentioned that i didnt know if this eggshell membraine for my joint pain in my legs was working. I have been observing this for the last five or so days. I think i had one day it felt like it was still bothersome but to be honest the other days it seemed to be improving. I hope its the eggshell membraine working. I guess i would be okay if the pain was just going away. I just have a hard time thinking that is it. just to good to be true. Im hoping my joint pain will stay this way. I also lined up me next chemo for thurday in three weeks. I have been doing them on tuesday but i wanted to do them on thursday so i can hopefully go back to work and have the weekend to recover. we will see about that. Im still not sure if it is going to work. the next few days are going to say alot. Im just glad the joint pain is feeling better for now.

Good thing i enjoyed those
Good thing i enjoyed those days because the pain in my legs is back. I cant figure out why. I did diside to not take claritin and alive this time in hopes i wouldnt get dizzy like last treatment. I dont know if thats it. Its day 6 now and and im not dizzy which is good. not a very good trade off though. This living a day at a time is so benifitial. I still got to work on that one still though.

I'm glad the eggshell membrane seems to be working for you. I had never heard of this until I read about it on this board. Just take things one day at a time, as you seem to be doing.
Had to jump in and comment on how darn sexy you look! Love the hair.

Aw, thanks! I figured since my hair was pretty much back to normal, a new photo was needed. I'll be coming up on my second post-chemo haircut soon.

Sounds like maybe the Claritin did cause your dizziness. Yeah, you're right, not a great trade-off. I was really hoping the eggshell membrane was going to be the answer for you.

Chris, you look great and I love the new hairdo!! I haven't had a haircut yet and my hair just seems to be growing out crazily (is that a word??). Maybe I'll try getting it trimmed. I'll take YOUR picture along with me to my hairdresser and tell her "I want to look like this!" LOL When was your last chemo??

Chris - You do LOOK GREAT! Healthy, happy and one hot lady! I can't believe you are already due for a second hair cut!
Eldri - I haven't had a hair cut yet and mine is starting to do some weird things as well. I'm still learning what to do with curly hair. And the top seems to be growing much slower than the sides. I'm planning to wait a while before I get it cut since I want it to grow longer - closer to shoulder length again. I'm just glad to have hair again so that I don't have to wear any covers! :-)

Mine has grown out very wavy, and by the end of May, especially at the back of my neck, it was flipping up and doing all sorts of weird stuff. My last chemo was mid-December and by the first of July, it was messy enough to be styled and trimmed.

What about just trying the ibuprofen without the Claritin?
After making me think I was going to skate through my 4th round of chemo (carbo/taxotere), it hit me like a ton of bricks a day later than usual and I'm just starting to feel like I'm on the upswing from it today. Besides extreme weakness, I was hit with muscle and bone pain in my calves and shins. A bit different from the neuropathy pain I had, which is almost gone now. My feet and ankles weren't involved this time. 600 mg. ibuprofen really helped and seemed to last for almost a day and a half before I needed to take another one. Yesterday I cut back to 400 mg. and that was enough and I'm still good today.

Wow! O Wow! Your hair is just so pretty!
I finally gave in and cut my hair myself yesterday. Not much left and it just kept snarling, but I'm keeping the rest as long as I can because I think it protects my scalp from irritation somewhat.
Love hearing and seeing how others are progressing post treatment. It keeps me going when things get rough between treatments.

After my last chemo, it
After my last chemo, it seemed to take a it longer to recover, but I did. Probably a little cumulative effects. My final chemo was the end of June and my hair is now growing back though more salt than pepper this time. On the downside chin hairs came back with a vengeance, go figure:(. On the upside my eyebrows and eyelashes are really coming back:)

Becca, hope all went well with your 3rd infusion. I know that you've told us before but I can't remember if you are geting external or internal radiation next? I had the sandwich regime, too. 28 external pelvic radiation treatments. They were pain free and virtually side-effect free, too. Hopefully yours will go as smoothly as mine. Let us know how you're doing. Kim

Hi Soup, the first time my hair starting to grow back after chemo, I noticed super fine (but noticeable in certain lights) hair growing all over my cheeks, upper lip and chin. The nice ladies on this forum let me know I could shave it without worrying that it would come back in thicker. Thankfully, it's not nearly as bad this second time. Hopefully you don't experience anything like that but if you do, please know that it seems to be normal (and manageable!). Kim

Wishing you luck, Janae! With your fighting attitude and strength of spirit to get through the tough times, you've shown that you will make it no matter what. So glad to hear that you're staying busy and keeping your eyes on the prize! Kim
