That is fantastic news all around and a great start to the new year! I hope you have a great vacation!
Whats he going to do with his hands in all that time off? Maybe you should take a game of monopoly or something.

Have a wonderful time! And a pina colada with an umbrella for me!
I am truly touched by all of your sweet and caring responses (and the naughty one from Stomps - lol). Thank you so much - what a fabulous group.
I am nearly packed and ready to go - one more day of work, the dog has been lovingly shipped off to my son's home (where she promptly pooped in the house....I think she was a little nervous - or it was a "statement" poop) and then we are off! I see some rain in the forecast, but we always have Monopoly to keep us occupied....and of course, the cocktails with the pretty umbrellas!
I will be thinking of you guys - and having a cocktail in your honor! Cheers, my friends!
Hugs

That is what you say instead of "cheers" before you take a drink in Dominican Republic. Do you know what it means? "Health"....I drank to our health several times this past week!
Our vacation was glorious and beautiful! I couldn't ask for anything more. Marosa, I can see why you are so proud of your country. The people there were lovely and sweet. We will be back!!
I just want to thank everyone for their support and good wishes....it made my vacation even sweeter!
Salut!

Im so happy to hear you enjoyed your vacation in Punta Cana Jojo! I was thinking of you all this past days. It was a long 5 days weekend with last Thursday and today included. I was up in the north coast and knew I would have no wifi but ended up having no cel signal as well. For your next visit you should try the north part of the island. Its very exuberant with mountains filled with palm trees and a very big choice of wonderful beaches, all with different charm. Nice little restaurants and beach bars (italian and french mostly) were you have your feet on the water literally and the mood is very relaxed!
Salud!!!

Okay!!! Im ready to be your tour guide! We will do the flat East with it's lovely white sand beaches and sugar cane fields. The south with its breathtaking views of the sea, rivers and water falls... lush vegetation and flowers growing everywere. Then deeper into the south where its very dry, arid and poor but has a beauty hard to describe. Then we go visit the north were nature went crazy or smoked some pot! It's wild with beauty, its paradise! And then we would finish visiting the Colonial part of Santo Domingo city with its very beautiful architecture, small streets, amazing monuments and fun nightlife. Have I mentioned our famous "Presidente" beer?
Im sooo ready to give all you guys the tour around my island (yep, it's all mine!) Don't miss the chance, you get 3 for one: the tour guide, the photographer and the beachbum!!!
