Woo hoo!!

I just want to share with you that next Saturday my husband and I are going away for vacation together. A real vacation! We are leaving next Saturday for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We haven't been away on a vacation like this in 5 years. I am so looking forward to the palm trees, beautiful beach and ocean, cocktails and enjoying some time together. We have been married 3 1/2 years and still haven't been on a honeymoon (of course every day IS a honeymoon! lol). And also we need to celebrate 2 years NED. Psychologically I feel I have reached a huge milestone.
I seem to be the beneficiary of many blessings lately, and I am very grateful. My children are doing well (and all you parents know how that can affect your life), work is going nicely, I am retiring this year; further to that, some awful legal matters that have hovered over us since the beginning of our relationship have almost come to completion. My thyroid biopsy came back benign (still will likely need surgery, as the nodules are quite large and affecting my swallowing as well as my breathing when laying down, but that is miniscule) and - drum roll please..... my hubby has quit smoking - for about 2 months now! That is quite a feat, especially since he confessed to me that he was up to 3 packs a day....a day! He quit cold turkey (he was quite ill and consequently quit smoking). Once his health recovered, he continued on with the no smoking. His strength was admirable. And he wasn't even cranky!
Needless to say, I am floating on cloud nine right now. I wanted to share some good stuff with you guys - my second family.
Cheers!!
Jojo

Jojo,
I always thought you guys went on Holiday, not a vacation. Never made it to the DR, but have stopped at Dominica a couple of times.

Always great to read good news here. Congratulations, and enjoy the vacation.
See? What goes around comes around. I'll bet there is some cool astrology associated with this. When I log on and see your face with a post, I know things are going to be OK. I think belief in good outcomes is half the battle, and sticking to that value is how you have overcome your adversities. Not all of our heroes and heroines have to be stage four kidney malfunction. This goes for all of us when I say FLY.
Hey, maybe you will run into Marosa while in the D.R. I'm sure she knows where to have a good time.

Pina Colada Time
Jojo:
I am so happy to read your post. A vacation is just what you and your husband truly need. Kuddos to the Mr. for his success in ditching those nasty cigarettes. It is wonderful when one of our club members can share something "good" for a change.
Enjoy the tropical breezes and frosty beverages. Pack your sunscreen and beach towels, fun and relaxation await you,
Hugs,
Nancy
