Thinksgiving week has arrived. A time to ponder all of the things we have been blessed with and are grateful for.

I would love it if those of you in America would share their Thanksgiving plans, and those who live outside, well, you can share as well. We've all got things we are grateful for.

Sue - Trubrit

P.S. To all of you who are travelling for Thanksgiving, I pray for safty as you journey. The weather is not playing nice this year.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Sue!

I can't count all of my blessings - there are so many.

I'm blessed to have a big, supportive. loving family.  Hosting Thanksgiving dinner for 40 on Thursday - just immediate family.  Made 1 big turkey already and all the stuffing. Will make another bird on Thursday.

I pray for blessings for all the folks on the board - and their families, as well!

    Plans

Until the last day or so I was thinking of not doing anything.  The grind of this year sometimes catches up, and I am not sure I would be good company.

But now I am thinking I am going to my brother's.   Last year there were about 15 of us or so.  We just found out that someone we know is visting the U.S. right now, so we will set another plate. :)

    My Blessing

This year it is easy to count the blessing......last Saturday I got to see my daughter get married.  This is a day I did not think I'd see after my dx in 2012 of stage 3 signet cell colon cancer.

Everything after this is just gravy...........

My oldest daughter will be with her Fiance and his family in Boston. My middle daughter will be with her fiance and his family in Ohio. My youngest daughter will be with her husband and his family in Kalamazoo Michigan. oldest son is working in Chicago and can't come home. That leaves me an my youngest son. We will travel to my sisters in Orion Township Michigan. Looking forward to visiting my family.

    Our five kids are scattered

and we're rarely all on the same continent at the same time. This year  our youngest daughter and  her two boys will be joining my husband and me at our middle son's house. Our daughter in law   is doing all the cooking, and said we don't need  to bring anything except ourselves, bless her heart.Smile We'll be celebrating the formal addition of our de facto granddaughter to the family.  She has  been with  my son and dil  since her birth just over three years ago, but her adoption just became final  a couple of weeks ago.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and peace.

    We're making a

big dinner, eating it and laying on the couch in a food coma! I'm thankful for all my warrior friends and the fact that we're here alive and kicking. This year's turkey will be "spatchcocked." Backbone cut out and then flattened like a brick chicken. It cooks tender, juicy and fast!

    Happy Thanksgiving all!

I will send you a personal message

Feel free though, to start a new thread with this question.

There are others here who may have had the same problems. I will message you with a few questions my boss (podiatrist) would ask.

    Sue - Trubrit

The personal message would not send, so I will add it here. Feel free to message me back if you would like.

I know how we automatically think that any pain is related to treatment; its just natural after all we've been through.

I would like to ask a few questions though. Do you experience pain in your feet when you first wake up, or after sitting for a while? Does the pain increase as the day progresses?

Plantar Fasciitis is a problem that many people experience, and these are some of the symptoms.

Have you expereinecd any problems with your back or hips? Both of these can manifest in the feet.

If the pain continues, definitely talk to your oncologist, and if he doesn't think that it is releated to your treatment, I would find a good Podiatrist.

Please feel free to start a new thread as well. People are more than willing to give as much help and advice as they can.

I hope the pain is just a passing thing. And I wish you a special Thanksgiving week.

It is still hard for me to wrap my mind and heart around the fact that Ron has been gone for 30 months and Debbie(Johnnybegood) for 16 months. My life is forever changed.

Ron was the primary chef and his dinner was sooo good. Nevertheless, my son, grandson, & I will make our best effort. It won't be near as good, but it won't poison us. Not to put a damper on anyone's holiday, but it will not be a celebration for us.

    Dear Wolfen

It is always good to see you pop in, though it still makes my heart ache as I think of your loss and the loss that your family still feel keenly.

I'm sure Ron and Debbie are looking down with love.

    Hey Man

For the colonscopy and surgery I did the prep work starting about 7:00PM the nigjht before.  Both doctors said I did well with it, as it were.  Of course every doc and person is different, but it may be worthwhile to get a call into the doc to see if you can have dsome thanksgiving food.   Friday to Monday would seem to be a good enough period of time to get ready for Monday.

Have a good Thanksgiving and nothing but best wishes for your upcoming tests.

    Good Luck

on your tests on Monday.   Be careful fasting for so long- like NewHere said, all docs are different, but I've never heard of fasting for a whole week beforehand. I'd worry about not getting enough nutrition and weakening  your  body, which wouldn't be good.  It's a bit late now,  but would  the doctor  agree  to a low residue diet for several days, then fasting for 24 hours before the tests?

    Fasting

I dunno why but my ONCs office called and emailed me about fasting the whole week.. Of course gradually more an more each day to almost just broth come Sat.. an because I take a opioid pain med its double Dulcolax an Miralax starting on Sat afternoon.  they said a very small portion of turkey 4oz or less , no veggies or leafy greens, nuts etc.. So basically in my Italian household pretty much NO dinner for me.. It's kinda ok I been eating like I going to the chair since chemo ended . Started chemo weight was 145lbs after chemo weight 180lbs.. Thank you canabis oils... Or I prob still be 140.. Again thank you ALL on this board.. Amazing amazing people here.. Best thing I ever did is find this forum.. Don't post much but read almost daily.. Happy holidays All :)

ps- newhere we need to meet up in NYC for that end chemo cocktail one day.. Look fwrd to meeting ya.. Be well my friend anD stay safe an healthy..
