Port Removal Update

Today I get to remove the dressing and take a shower! The burning at the incision point is getting better. I am beginning to adjust to not having my "little buddy" riding on my chest just below the skin and having tubing up my neck.

I see my counselor next week. We will work on feeling comfortable with this big step. Accepting the possiblilites and not being so scared to hope.

But today I get to celebrate life. I am going to a baby shower. What better way the focus on new beginnings and life's blessings.

Blessing to you all...

    Dear Alice,

It always amazes me that even bad things you can get so used to that when it is gone you kind of "miss" it.

Congrats on this new chapter and wish you great success with you emotional healing.

    Congratulations

on starting a new chapter in your life. A port is a constant reminder, I want to take mine out soon. Maybe a tattoo to cover up the scars. Warm thoughts for your healing, physical and emotional.

    Congrats

Must be a great feeling.  I know mine feels sore sometimes and often generally "weird."  Seems like when I turn my head I can feel it pulling.  To lose those feelings and the bump on the chest is something I am looking forward to.  Glad you are free from that.
