Wondering about luv4lacrosse...update - RIP Mike
Has anyone had contact with or know how Mike "luv4lacrosse" is doing? His last post - I believe in February - was not as upbeat as I would have hoped. His journey has been very similar to that of my late husband's and I have always been so happy that he has been successfully winning the battles with this damned beast!
Hoping for good news. Keep up the fight, everyone!

I hope Mike checks in as well. I've PM'd Mike several times since his last post in February but haven't heard from him. We used to meet monthly to watch a ballgame or just BS, but since he moved to Texas I've lost his email and phone info.

All:
Reluctantly after reading this post I checked our local newspaper (St. Louis) for the past couple of months. Unfortunately Mike passed away in March of this year.
I know Mike was greatly admired on this site, for his toughness and compassion. Luckily for me I was able to see this firsthand as Mike and I met on a regular basis while he was living in St. Louis. Early in our recovery (I was about 6 months ahead of him) we would meet for coffee and as we both progressed, we would catch a Cards or Blues game. Wouldn't watch much of the game as we were BS'ing about the site or life in general. Mike was 8 years younger than me but our lives paralleled greatly, growing up in the same rough neighborhood, living very close to one another as adults and being in a similar professions. Mike gave me a lot of advice over that time period. Simply put, he was a great guy and an awesome friend.

I am so sad to hear this. Mike fought so very hard. I always felt a special connection to him, he made that easy to do. He is at peace now. Prayers to his family and loved ones.

I too was thinking about him a few days ago and looked to see how it had been since he last visited. I think many of us develop a sense about folks conditions. I was worried but hoped for the best. He was one of the great warriors here and battled to the end. Such a loss to all. RIP.
Thanks for letting us know.

to hear this news, Greg. He was a fighter and tough as tough gets in the ring with C, and then we heard it had come back in him, and the fight was still happening. I'm sure we all wanted to think that C couldn't take a tough guy like Mike with his determination to beat it, and then to learn this...sad as it gets for someone like me to hear about, as I know it is for all of us. RIP, Champ.
