Just wanted to mention to you that the reason I leaked so much is that the tube was too small and they had to replace it FINALLY. Anyhow since then I have had almost zero leakage. Today I spoke with a swollow tech and she told me that its best not to use it until and if you really need it for nutrition because you need to keep your swollowing reflexes working. She did mention coffee and acidic drinks, but since I dont drink hardly any, I didnt pay as much attention as I should.  I agree with you this tube is intimaditing, but the good thing is that it is there for us if we need it. What kind of cancer are you being treated for? I am so happy that you have found this site because there are so many caring and helpful people more than willing to help here. God Bless you my dear.  Glad to hear you got the old one replaced, some of them are just a pain and nothing you do can help but to replace them. For me Peggy is a way of live for now on until I die or Jesus comes, I am ready for both. The blessing I have in my life everyday is being a part of my grandchildren life. My oldest with my help built a remote control Boat, just something for him to remember me log after I am not longer here, this is only because of someone inventing a PEG tube.

Cant agree more! f it wasnt for Christ I am sure that going thru this would be impossible.

I went from T4;N2;M0 before surgery and prayed just for the strength just to handle what ever it was. I came out of surgery as T3;N0;M0; and not in ICU, they got it all....No chemo or Radiation needed. Mine were answered 10 fold. Only five belived [Myself my doctor , wife, and two from work. 200 from work and my Son and Brother and everyone else I know thought they would never see me again. I returned to work in two months. Yes, my prayers were answered.
