DDCS

90 days ago I suffered a pathological FX to the left distal humerus, and a mass was found that had deteriorated the bone. After electing to biopsy the mass, it was sent all over the country. AFIP (dept of defense), Moffitt Center in Tampa, all confirmed a De-differentiated chondrosarcoma, or DDCS. Pretty damn rare, especially for my age (40), and as a primary site location. All of this in a healthy, well nourished, very active person. Like being struck by lightning really. Since that time, I selected Dr. Letson at Moffitt center to resect the tumor, and rebuild my left arm, in liue of amputation, which was my first recommendation. I'm about to start chemo and radiation. I'm in excellent spirits, and after many adversities in my life consider this my "next challenge". Are their any other rare sarcoma survivors out there, that would care to discuss...anything really? I'm open.

I see that your post was 4 years ago. I am also 40 with dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma in my ribs. Was wondering about your current situation.
